I work with clients of all ages to define their goals for therapy. I work collaboratively with physicians, social workers, teachers etc., to implement the most effective treatment possible. I have experience in a variety of settings; residential treatment, guidance and counseling K-12, and outpatient mental health. I completed level 3 Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy. I've been married 30 years, have 2 children, one with ADHD, and been a foster parent. I incorporate whatever spiritual beliefs my clients hold into their healing process. My diversity of life experience contributes to my ability to empathize with your story.

I typically use an interactive approach to treatment, teaming with clients to identify and achieve goals. I have been practicing for over 10 years and I have licensure to treat mental health issues as well as addiction issues. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults, as well as families and couples. I also have experience working with military veterans. Often I blend a variety of therapeutic techniques when working with an individual, most commonly including motivational enhancement, CBT and solution focused therapy. I am passionate about helping others and I love to see clients' successes throughout their wellness journey.

Professional Services Group (PSG) provides individual, group, family, and couples therapy in Kenosha and Janesville for individuals struggling with a variety of mental health and substance abuse issues. We have therapists who work with clients as young as 4 years old, as well as adolescents, and adults. We are a trauma-informed practice that believes that it is our job to help clients reach their goals, on their terms.

Viktor Fankl said that man can endure any “what” for a good enough “why.” This means that, while emotional or physical suffering can be an immense burden, healing can be obtained through a process of discovery and meaning-making. Another favorite expression of mine is that of Dr. Les Greenberg who says that “feelings move us, but meaning is what we live by.” So, while our emotions are at times confusing and even distasteful to us, they complement our hunger for meaning; emotions fuel us with motivation to undertake the necessary change for growth and healing.

She has been in the mental health field for 10 years & has her Masters in Professional Counseling and currently working towards her PhD. Marrika has provided counseling services for children, youth, and adults. She has over 20yrs of serving the community.

I find the most effective way of working with people is to meet people where they are at. It does not make sense to have people try to fit in boxes that are not accurate for their life. I utilize mindfulness and a wellness approach to help increase the positivity of what is going on in a person's life. I am able to provide services utilizing an EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) approach. I believe that it is the person's right to interview their therapist for best fit, and want to provide this prior to scheduling an intake for anyone. I also provide supervision for Mental Health &/or AODA professionals.

I like to meet clients where they are at. If they seek support and understanding, I offer them a listening ear. If they seek direction and coaching, I offer them guidance.
