I am a professional counselor & psychotherapist. Over the past 17 years, I have worked in a variety of different clinical settings including community mental health, non-profit agencies, and private practices. In addition to working with individuals and couples, I have extensive training working with clients who have experienced trauma, and I have also had a lot of training and experience in providing play therapy for children.
I am an eclectic therapist, which means that I often find it very helpful to utilize suggestions and techniques from several different theoretical frameworks, instead of limiting myself to just one approach. Because every person is unique, there will rarely be a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
I am a very calm and patient person, especially while working with one of my clients. I like to allow my client to set the pace and depth at which we are talking. In addition to my training and knowledge as a therapist, I also have a vast amount of knowledge in other areas of life that many clients have found helpful, such as art, music and engineering.
