My approach as a therapist is to provide you a safe, supportive, and confidential environment. I enjoy working with individuals struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, and stress, as well as couples who are in need of a 'relationship tune-up'. We"ll explore your issues, build on your strengths, and then develop new skills and strategies to help you enjoy your life with less stress and worry. This can mean short-term solution focused therapy sessions for immediate and pressing problems, or longer sessions - depending on what you want to accomplish.
Prior to being licensed as a clinical counselor, I worked for over 20 years for AT&T, assisting individuals with personal and career challenges. I've also received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - a treatment approach that focuses on your thought processes and how they affect emotions and behaviors.
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance,and also offer flexible rates if you have a high deductible or are under-insured. Our office has easy access off Wade Avenue or Hillsborough Street. Please email or call and we'll look at times that fit your schedule.
