While new in my licensure, I am not new to the mental health field and have several years of experience in crisis work, working with Veterans along with helping adolescents and teens through difficult adjustments in their lives.
I have ample experience in aiding those who are overcoming both new and long term trauma that has begun to have various affects on a persons life. In my time as a clinician, I have adopted a mentality of "one step at a time", taking bite size pieces out of overall symptoms to help bring some relief while bigger issues are addressed. If you're on the fence about therapy and concerned you "won't know what to talk about", we could be a good match! I'm very skilled at helping people open up and guiding a productive and satisfying session to help those who aren't sure what they want out of therapy, they just know they want some help.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families to address complex life issues, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, adverse life events, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship issues, and substance use.
Life is a journey. How often have you heard that? As we find our road through life, we all need inspiration and guidance. Having an outside perspective to navigate that journey can help us view our path through a different lens. It is my goal as your therapist to create a safe, supportive, and accepting environment for you to share your story. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach for therapy. Whether it's learning coping skills, practicing mindfulness, or just having someone to talk to, I get it. Life isn't easy and you don't have to tackle this journey alone.

Since 2006, I've served as a therapist in Nebraska, helping teens, adults, and families.
Life can often feel like an overwhelming balancing act, and if you’re reading this, you might be reaching a breaking point with stress, anxiety, or a sense of being "stuck." Whether you are navigating a major life transition or dealing with long-standing emotional patterns, you deserve a space where you don’t to hold it all together. I work with individuals who are ready to trade 'just getting by' for actually feeling steady again. My goal is to help you find your footing, reconnect with what matters, and move from feeling overwhelmed by your circumstances to feeling like the author of your own story.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
