It has been a pleasure to work with teens, individuals, and families over 25 years.
Clients often come to me when struggling with anxiety, grief, and marital or life stressors. Stepping out and sharing your story can feel scary. I understand this and want you to know it is healthy to reach out for help. I have faith in the counseling process and the small steps that can lead you to lasting reward and renewed hope. Individuals can benefit from therapy for many life situations. Together we will develop a plan to move forward whether the struggle is grief, anxiety, a traumatic event, depression, life transitions, marital counseling or another concern.

I offer in person sessions, as well as telehealth for teens and adults.
I provide therapy in Omaha for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. I also offer telehealth services to clients located in PSYPACT participating states. A current list of participating states can be found on the PSYPACT website. In addition, I assist those navigating grief, divorce, relational loss and major life transitions. You may be quietly dealing with these symptoms while still managing work, family, and daily responsibilities. Or maybe others have noticed your struggle. You desire steadiness, clarity, and practical support — not just surface coping — so you can feel more grounded and in control again.

I have a clinical background working with adults and adolescents in mental health.
Outside of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), My approach has always been client-centered, empowerment, and strength-based approaches. Since each person is different, my best approach is to always listen first and meet people where they are, then I respond with respect and openness.

I work with all populations of clients. I am especially interested in working with client with bipolar disorder and PTSD. I started my journey in doing therapy because my brother struggled with bipolar disorder and addiction for many years. For many years he could not find the care he needed, so he struggled more than he had to. I want help client learn about their mental health and how to manage their symptoms, so they can lead healthy productive lives.

Hi, I’m Ashley. I’m a therapist who genuinely cares about helping people feel understood, supported, and a little less alone in what they’re going through. Reaching out for therapy can be hard, and I don’t take it lightly when someone chooses to share their story with me. I work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and just feeling overwhelmed by life. A lot of my work focuses on helping you understand what’s going on in your body and nervous system, learn how to regulate emotions, and find coping tools that actually work in your day-to-day life.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
