Life is a journey full of stories, some we’ve chosen to create and others that were created for us. Your story may be easy or difficult, joyful or painful, filled with pride or touched by guilt or shame. Whatever chapter you’re in—or thinking about opening—I honor your bravery and courage for taking this step. Maybe you’re stepping into independence for the first time, starting a new career, feeling uncertain about the future, navigating parenthood, experiencing grief or relationship stress, adjusting to changes, feeling lost in what your next chapter might be, or simply trying to make it through each day- I am glad you are here.

My areas of experience include depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment and relationship issues, parenting struggles and worries, stress/burnout and ADHD (all ages).
I firmly believe my role as a counselor is to listen to, support, and empower individuals. We live in a world that likes to generalize and place us into categories without taking our individual stories into consideration. Having worked in the child welfare system for almost a decade, I saw how the lack of meeting individual needs can negatively impact a person. I believe if counselor and client work together, we can make sense of your individual story and embark on a path towards wholeness. The hardest work is done by the client and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, stress, anger, parenting, trauma, and communicating to be heard.
Are you struggling to relax and breathe after hardly sleeping the night before? Maybe each night your brain spins with anxiety and an endless to do list. The next day you feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, anxious and stressed out. You feel you can't get it right and you are lacking energy to make it better. You don't know where to turn as you feel like you have run out of options to manage your anxiety and your underlying anger at how your life has turned out. You're spent and know you need help. You want to be present to your partner, your job, your kids, yourself. You want to feel relaxed and embrace a fulfilling life.

Whether you’re a parent looking for guidance, a child learning new ways to cope, or an adult wanting to better understand yourself, I offer a safe space where you’re seen, supported, and never asked to change who you are.
Life can feel especially overwhelming when you or your child are navigating the world with a neurodivergent brain. Autism, ADHD, or both (AuDHD) can bring incredible strengths, but they can also come with big emotions, burnout, shutdowns, anxiety, or behaviors that feel hard to manage. None of this means you or your child need to be “fixed.” Instead, it’s about understanding how the brain works, building tools that actually help, and finding support that doesn’t make you feel broken.

Everyone always says parenting is hard, but that it is so worth it… leaving you to wonder when that will be true for you and leaving you to feel guilty when you feel like screaming at your toddler for not listening, or pulling your hair out due to your child excessively worrying about nothing, or walking on eggshells around your moody teenager.
I work with children, adolescents, and parents, to equip them with the right tools and strategies to manage life’s current stressors. I believe it is just as important for parents to take care of themselves while children learn new skills to improve impulse control, emotion regulation, or interpersonal effectiveness.

When your primary relationship is difficult, it impacts every aspect of your life. You can't focus as well at work, you become short and snappy with your children and/or others, you can't sleep, you stop eating or eat too much. It can feel so threatening when someone you care about doesn't seem to care about you, or when you wonder if you even care about them anymore. All of these feelings are normal in relationships but they don't have to last forever. If you allow them to push you to growth, you can have the relationship you've always craved.

I love children, and especially appreciate the opportunity to work with young children and their parents.
I have specific experience with young children, and had a postdoctoral specialization with two to six-year-olds. I especially enjoy this age because I feel that if they have a positive experience in counseling now, it will carry with them for the rest of their childhood.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
