Life comes with times of distressing and complicated feelings and sometimes contradictory or confusing thoughts or behaviors. You’ve learned how to manage a lot, but the weight of it all is taking a toll. Anxiety might be stealing your sleep and focus. Maybe a major life change - a loss, a move, a new role - has caught you off guard and you're searching for relief. Or maybe you keep ending up in the same painful relationship patterns. Early experiences may have shaped how you learned to protect yourself, and now it's difficult to relax and feel comfortable in your own skin. You want clarity, relief, and real change. You're looking for someone who gets it, can help you make sense of what's happening, and guide you toward something steadier.

You’re not stuck – You might just need a different way through.
Healing doesn’t only happen through talking—it happens through the body, too. Trauma, stress, and emotional pain often live in the nervous system, which is why I integrate movement and body awareness into sessions when it feels helpful.
This might look like noticing physical sensations, incorporating gentle movement, learning how to regulate your body in moments of overwhelm, or simply taking a short walk to help ground you in the moment. These approaches can open new ways of accessing and processing experiences that words alone sometimes cannot reach.

I have over 20 years of experience as an individual and couples therapist.
As a psychotherapist, I can assist you in unlocking your innate potential. In our busy lives we tend to lose perspective and neglect caring for the body, mind and inner self. In psychotherapy, you are assessed in a holistic manner using a biopsychosocial approach and together we work on areas of your life that are in need of examination and healing. You will feel safe and supported on your journey and will never be judged for being who you are. I enjoy working with clients from a diverse background and embrace diversity in my practice. I'm open-minded, compassionate, experienced (but not stuffy), and have a sense of humor.

How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
