I'm an LGBT , kink, and poly-competent (and friendly!) therapist and have experience working with clients from a variety of races and ethnicities, nationalities, socioeconomic classes, religious backgrounds, sexualities, gender identities, and relationship structures.
My primary goal in therapy is to create a safe space for clients to understand themselves better and to feel understood and accepted by the important people in their lives. It is amazing what positive changes people can make when they feel safe and comfortable enough to explore themselves and their problems with another person. Please email me to find out how I can help you tackle your specific concerns and start feeling better.

I am a LGBTQ + therapist.
Harmony, balance, and peace of mind are things many strive for. In today's world we encounter so many ups and downs. Have you found yourself feeling burned out or trapped? Are you surrounded by unknowns, or a wave from the past that you can't seem to outrun? Have you found yourself with a sudden weight that seems too heavy to carry? You've taken the first step by opening yourself up to the possibility of counseling. You don't have to carry the weight alone. No matter the struggle you can find healing through counseling in a safe place. If you start and stay with the journey, you can find your destination.

We are a multiethnic and multiracial group practice that centralizes care for BIPoC and LGBTQIA + communities. Clients who come to us are working though life challenges related to their identities. They are often in a process of self-exploration, working to make sense of their place and identity in the world where they are made to feel like "the other" and have been marginalized, traumatized, and blatantly microaggressed. We recognize the importance of finding providers who get it, from a shared and lived experience. Here, our aim is connect communities of color and queer communities with providers of color and queer providers.

My therapeutic lens is rooted in the tenants of social work and social justice. As a clinician I meet clients where they are and recognize that no person functions outside of their environment. So as we delve into issues of mental health symptoms, we will also be investigating how society at large plays a role in our health. I lean heavily on psychodynamic processing and a focused mindfulness practice called Brainspotting. I also engage clients through CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy. I am LGBTQIA + friendly and am continually in the process of being anti-racist.

LGBTQIA + issues, Bipolar Disorder, Sex Therapy, ADHD, sexual/gender issues, anxiety, and religious trauma are areas of interest.
As a psychotherapist, I can assist you in unlocking your innate potential. In our busy lives we tend to lose perspective and neglect caring for the body, mind and inner self. In psychotherapy, you are assessed in a holistic manner using a biopsychosocial approach and together we work on areas of your life that are in need of examination and healing. You will feel safe and supported on your journey and will never be judged for being who you are. I enjoy working with clients from a diverse background and embrace diversity in my practice. I'm open-minded, compassionate, experienced (but not stuffy), and have a sense of humor.

I have worked with many who have a spiritual background, those in the LGBT community, those with anger and anxiety issues, and those who have problems with a relationship, either family or otherwise.
My ideal client is someone who has a desire to work through things and is open to hearing other points of view. Someone who will challenge themselves and create opportunities for discussion. My ideal client would be someone who has a belief system, whatever that is, and can grow from that. I feel as though a client that would work best with me would have an open mind, understanding that I am there for them, and know that I truly want the best and ideal outcome for them.

Hey, I'm Evelynn! I enjoy working with a variety of issues, but I'm especially passionate about working with gender expansive clients! I'm a transgender woman, and my experiences absolutely inform how I approach working with my clients. I will provide space to explore which aspects of expression, pronouns, sexuality, and other elements you want to incorporate into your gender. There are no wrong answers, but we'll work together to find one you are comfortable with! I also have found neurodiversity (Autism Spectrum & ADHD) and eating disorders as additional specialties through working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

I work with individuals and couples with gay , lesbian and bisexual issues.
One of the most important issues in a marriage is sexuality. Some people feel their sexual relationship could be better, others think if they didn't have to have sex again in their lifetime that would be fine with them. If you are dealing with some of these issues, I can help. I specialize in working with individuals and couples with lack of sexual desire, erectile dysfunction, female orgasmic disorder, premature ejaculation, and sexual addiction issues. Today is the day to begin taking steps toward a satisfying and fulfilling sex life.

LGBTQ+ Therapists

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
