I believe that we all have encountered times in our lives where navigating the ups and downs prove too challenging on our own. I know the process of finding a counselor that you connect with can be overwhelming. Participating in therapy requires a level of vulnerability that we do not often have to share in our daily lives. My goal is to provide a safe, confidential, and empathetic environment where you can develop the level of trust that is needed to disclose your concerns and challenges. I believe you are the expert of your story and will work with your strengths to assist you in overcoming the things that challenge you.

You are 'Not' your problem. What do I mean? Stop identifying yourself by the challenges that have come upon you and led you to seek therapeutic services. There is nothing 'wrong' with you. Instead, 'what happened?' No one has sunk too low that they cannot change. Allow me the opportunity to empower, encourage and support your 'change', Mentally, Physically and Spiritually!

I believe we live by the stories we tell ourselves, until we learn new stories. Whether it is the story of a relationship or our stories as individuals, we can always author new empowering stories of “us” through collaborative, trauma-informed, intersectional work addressing systems of power and oppression.

I have 20 years of experience working in the mental health field in residential, outpatient, in-home, and hospital settings. The majority of that time has been spent working with individuals, children, and families dealing with trauma, abuse, relationship conflicts, depression, and anxiety, among other issues. My style begins with being person-centered. I don't believe there are cookie-cutter answers to life's challenges, so I begin by learning about you and what will best help you achieve your own goals.

Life is a journey. How often have you heard that? As we find our road through life, we all need inspiration and guidance. Having an outside perspective to navigate that journey can help us view our path through a different lens. It is my goal as your therapist to create a safe, supportive, and accepting environment for you to share your story. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach for therapy. Whether it's learning coping skills, practicing mindfulness, or just having someone to talk to, I get it. Life isn't easy and you don't have to tackle this journey alone.
