You have goals and a desire to excel but you are in a constant battle in your head with that nagging voice of self-doubt. You feel stuck; like shutting down, all attempts to avoid feeling this way. Your inner critic is common, but not helpful in becoming who you want to be. The most successful people and the highest performing athletes have learned to silence their inner critic and focus their mental energy differently. We work together to identify the barriers that prevent you from living life the way YOU want to, and create a roadmap to help get you to your optimal self.

I specialize in working with women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adjusting to life's changes.
It is my honor and privilege to bear witness to the stories of others through therapy. After working with hundreds of clients over the last decade who have faced anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and medical complications, it is my belief that the human experience is complicated and filled with both triumph and tragedy as we each make our own journeys. My goal as a therapist is to help you live your life to the fullest with intention and meaning, while also helping you to show up as the best version of yourself.

Hey, I'm Evelynn! I enjoy working with a variety of issues, but I'm especially passionate about working with gender expansive clients! I'm a transgender woman , and my experiences absolutely inform how I approach working with my clients. I will provide space to explore which aspects of expression, pronouns, sexuality, and other elements you want to incorporate into your gender. There are no wrong answers, but we'll work together to find one you are comfortable with! I also have found neurodiversity (Autism Spectrum & ADHD) and eating disorders as additional specialties through working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

I am Stephanie and my passion is working with women and girls who have experienced trauma and are ready to move forward from the effects of it. Getting through the day can be a struggle after trauma occurs. It can feel like your personality completely changes. Like you are unseen, unheard, and a burden. You have tried navigating these feelings on your own, but need more support. Maybe this is occurring to your teenager and you want to ensure they are getting the right help at the right time.

Accepting New Clients Now...........When we experience sexual, pregnancy and birthing trauma it often impacts us for a lifetime. As women , we are given the unique experience of multiplying that which is given to us, and welcoming each new generation. But what happens when things do not go as planned? As you traverse the aftermath of what happened to you, it is often hard to connect to yourself spiritually, mentally and physically. Trauma processing feels impossible; AND you have the capacity to heal already inside of you. Let's work together to redefine the relationship with yourself and the world around you.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
