“Live life to the fullest.” “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” These are great, but life is more complex than cliché quotes. As your counselor, it is my pleasure to partner with you to find real joy in life again. True freedom does take work and can feel terrible as you work through the pain, but is it worth it? 100%! You are worthy of happiness, freedom, and wholeness, even if you don’t currently feel it.

Do you feel like you have it “somewhat together”, like you’ve put in some work to be your best self but yet you still feel stuck? Do you feel like you aren’t seeing the changes you had hoped for or like your confidence has suffered? Maybe your relationship with yourself and others have felt draining or mentally taxing. Sometimes it can seem like everything takes more energy than it should.
I am dedicated to working with individuals like you—those who are capable of looking into themselves but can struggle to connect their thoughts to emotional breakthroughs to be able to inspire change.

The clients I work with may have experiences including but not limited to life adjustments, interpersonal conflict with partners, friends, or families, self esteem, attachment, identity issues, gender roles, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Individuals so often carry their burdens without recognizing or verbalizing them, increasing the weight they hold. Our therapy will approach these struggles head-on and together. Vulnerability grows with trust, safety, compassion, and an unrestricted amount of time. Come as you are and the rest will follow in our work together.

I use strengths based treatments of CBT, DBT, and narrative therapies, and etc.
Therapy in my office is a place where you can feel free to express emotions and process unresolved traumas, with someone to work alongside you and collaborate on goals. I believe in gently challenging negative thought patterns and resolving where that thought was created. Your session is centered on your goals, and we work through relieving shame, and embracing positive and realistic growth. The analogy I like best: my office is the space where you dump your puzzle pieces, and we take our time to figure out which pieces fit together.

We as individuals seek to learn who we truly are and to obtain acceptance, both internally and externally. This discovery of our identity can be particularly daunting to undertake as a child or adolescent, as well as for caregivers who wish to understand and support them. Being bicultural has provided Lisa with a unique understanding of racial-ethnic identity formation. Throughout the collaborative partnership of therapy, you will work together to achieve your goals in a nurturing and supportive environment utilizing the approach that is best suited for your needs. Play therapy training completed as well as TF-CBT, PCIT, ERP & more.

You’ve been through so much. And now, you’re hurting—unsure if things will ever truly get better.
Trauma can change everything: how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how you move through the world. You might feel disconnected, like you’re watching your life from the outside. You want to live fully in the present, but the past keeps interfering—affecting your relationships, your work, and your sense of peace. You’ve tried to cope. You’ve read the books, watched the videos, maybe even talked to someone. But nothing seems to reach the core of what’s holding you back. What you need now is real relief.
