Hello! I’m really glad you’re here. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming—especially if you’re unsure where to begin. I’m currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Northside Behavioral Health Group, working under the close supervision of Corey Gray, a licensed therapist and the owner of the practice. I work with individuals in Omaha, Nebraska (and surrounding areas) to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore whatever’s on your mind—whether it’s stress, self-doubt, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck.

Loss affects each of us in unique ways. Each of us encounters loss on a regular basis. How we each experience each loss is unique and viewed through our individualized lens based on our life experiences. I meet people where they are in their grief journey and provide a safe space to tell their story and be heard. Grief has no timeframe. Whether the loss was recent or long ago where there is pain there can be healing. My goal is to help people find meaningful ways to process the losses they have experienced. I also aim to help caregivers both lay and professional find ways to nurture themselves and find hope and renewal.

The main issues I treat are Trauma (Relationship, Abuse, Medical), PTSD (past and recent events), Partners of Neurodivergent persons, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 1 (Asperger's/High Functioning Autism), and Chronic Illness.
“Live life to the fullest.” “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” These are great, but life is more complex than cliché quotes. As your counselor, it is my pleasure to partner with you to find real joy in life again. True freedom does take work and can feel terrible as you work through the pain, but is it worth it? 100%! You are worthy of happiness, freedom, and wholeness, even if you don’t currently feel it.

You may be moving through a season that feels tender or unsettling—illness, parenting challenges, emotional overwhelm, fear, or a quiet sense that life has become something to endure rather than trust. Something in you knows this isn’t failure, but an invitation to pause and listen more deeply. You may be longing to reconnect with the intelligent, loving wisdom within you that moves through all of life. Alongside my private practice, I serve as a Visiting Instructor at Naropa University, where I teach from a transpersonal and embodied perspective.

"Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you deal with it is what makes the difference." ~ Virginia Satir. The journey of life is filled with so many "bumps in the road" - illness, loss, family adjustments, physical changes. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and out of balance, making it increasingly difficult to function in daily life. It's important to take the time to recognize and heal the emotional change that accompanies life's unexpected twists and turns. I look forward to walking this path with you...it is an honor.

If you are facing chronic illness, grief, trauma, anxiety, or a major life transition, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I bring both clinical training and personal insight to my work with clients. My personal journey with cancer has given me a deep understanding of the emotional impact of illness, loss, and uncertainty. This lived experience allows me to meet clients with genuine empathy and understanding.

You are in survival mode. Carrying responsibility, pressure, trauma, and the ongoing impact of chronic stress or disability that has asked more of you than most people can see. What once felt manageable now takes steady effort just to keep up with. Even rest does not always restore you the way it used to. The system stays on alert. Capacity narrows while life keeps asking more. What you need is not more ways to push through. It is a different way of functioning—one that brings you back to clarity, steadiness, and something sustainable enough to actually live inside.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed? You may be tired from trying to give everyone your best and still feel like you aren't enough. I believe that healing occurs when the mind, body, and spirit are acknowledged, nurtured, and allowed the freedom to fully transform. If we aren't living our life intentionally we unknowingly block the best versions of ourselves from emerging. Do you become fearful of success, self-sabotage growth, and yet continue to seek deeper meaning and purpose in your life? If this message resonates with you it's time to do something different! Ask yourself - What's the best that can happen?

Additionally, I have advanced training in supporting individuals with reproductive concerns such as infertility, mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, gynecologic chronic illness and cancers, loss and grief, PMDD, involuntary childlessness, or choosing to be childfree.
My areas of clinical expertise often involve making difficult decisions and dealing with chaotic circumstances where nothing is going as planned. Our work together will be the eye of the hurricane - finding calm in the storm, creating peace in a world that stretches you thin. We can process painful things, grieve lost expectations, and rebuild.

I offer a compassionate and open environment to explore and release the obstacles that cause us to limit our full potential. I believe that we experience conditions such as anxiety, depression, etc. when we are living incongruently from our true nature or essence. Often times, experiencing these strong emotional symptoms is the first sign that we are living out of balance. The longer the imbalance is present, the more susceptible our bodies become to developing disease. Working through and releasing emotional blocks is an important step towards full integration of the body, mind, and spirit.

Accepting New Clients Hello! I enjoy helping individuals with tackling life’s challenges and struggles; sometimes we just need someone we can confide in. I enjoy working with clients as young as 14yro to our experienced senior population. I specialize in working with symptoms related to depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and PTSD, however I do treat various other mental health needs. My approach is laid back, as I believe it can be quite difficult to open up in a sterile, clinical setting. Evenings and weekends are accommodated to as well.

Chronic Illness Therapists
How does therapy for chronic illness work?
Many people living with a chronic illness may feel they cannot speak honestly about their experience out of embarrassment or fear of being a burden, or because those close to them do not understand, for example, that they may “look good” even if they do not feel good. Therapy sessions are an opportunity to speak openly with someone who knows their symptoms are not in their head and who can offer practical, proven suggestions for managing feelings of grief, shame, or fatigue, such as techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts about symptoms and develop new ways to respond to them, such as distraction or calming breathing practices.

Can therapy help with physical symptoms of chronic illness?
Yes, especially if an individual with chronic illness has developed depression. People with depression are less likely to maintain their health treatment regimens or to take positive steps to manage physical symptoms when they arise, thereby potentially complicating their medical prognosis. Treatment of depression, through talk therapy, medication, or both, will often improve one’s physical state as it eases the emotional burden of illness.

What are the most effective treatment options for chronic illness?
No one living with a chronic illness, or their loved ones, should see depression as an unavoidable result of their condition. Instead, they should actively seek treatment. Research shows that people with depression are less likely to devote the required time and effort to maintaining or monitoring their health, and so therapy to limit the risk of depression can be vital for physical health as well. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction have been found to help individuals reduce stress and anxiety.

How long does therapy for chronic illness take?
There is no set timeline for therapy for people living with chronic illnesses, but many will see a therapist for a number of weeks or months, typically spanning at least 12 weekly sessions. Some people feel that they experience progress faster than others but even some who quickly feel improvement may continue with sessions for months or years. Some people may benefit from maintenance therapy if their symptoms change or they experience a decline in physical health. Others find that the skills learned in short-term therapy can be used on an ongoing basis, even after therapy has concluded.
