My Ideal clients are anyone who's committed like I am committed to walking alongside each other on their journey toward wellness. My approach is deeply person-centered and collaborative, meaning I view you as the expert on your own life. Together, we will create a secure, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences, identify your unique strengths, and challenge the patterns holding you back. By integrating evidence-based strategies—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to reframe thoughts or mindfulness for emotional regulation—I will help you develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.

“A step may be the beginning of a great journey” In life the first step is always the most difficult for people, the same can be said about therapy. Introducing oneself to someone they just met, trusting a stranger with their thoughts and feelings can be a truly intimidating experience. The purpose of therapy is to provide a safe space for a person to take the first step on the journey of healing and the personal growth that follows. Therapy is fluidic and follows an integrative, and adaptable path determined by the client’s goals.

Human behavior is a reflection of our inner world—a way we express unmet needs. Together, we explore the emotional truths beneath the surface (the wild) and tap into the inner strength and wisdom (the wise) that guide healing and growth. I have almost a decade's experience working with adults and children individually, in families, and in groups. My clinical experience includes working with people facing a range of concerns, including chronic suicidal ideation and crisis situations, in both inpatient and outpatient environments. I have received formal training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.

My approach draws from emotion-focused therapy (EFT), parts work, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy used in tandem with creative expressions like sand tray and art therapy.
I believe we live by the stories we tell ourselves, until we learn new stories. Whether it is the story of a relationship or our stories as individuals, we can always author new empowering stories of “us” through collaborative, trauma-informed, intersectional work addressing systems of power and oppression.

I offer play and art to assist in healing.
It’s been really hard for you if you're here looking at profiles. You’re looking for support & it’s hard to ask for. It's even harder to accept. You’re frustrated. You aren't sure what to do. Where do you go from here? You’ve done some work on your own, but you need help. You want to feel better. You want to be happy & find more peace in your life. It's so easy to find reasons to spiral each day because there's so much going on in the whole world and in your world. But that’s where I come in. Together we will figure this out-I know we can. It won't be perfect & it's not magic (I wish it was!), but we can figure it out together.

Art Therapy Therapists
How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
