Before I became a therapist, I spent over a decade in classrooms and community spaces teaching, listening, and learning alongside students from all walks of life. That experience shaped how I show up in the counseling room today: with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person's story.

I see behavior as a reflection of our inner world—a way we express unmet needs. Together, we explore the emotional truths beneath the surface (the wild) and tap into the inner strength and wisdom (the wise) that guide healing and growth.
I have almost a decade's experience working with adults and children individually, in families, and in groups. My clinical experience includes working with people facing a range of concerns, including chronic suicidal ideation and crisis situations, in both inpatient and outpatient environments. I have received formal training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.

At different points in our lives, we experience feeling at rock bottom or struggle to problem solve through life transitions. You are not alone, even when at times it can feel impossible to reach a balance; one which we all strive to find. We are all unique individuals with a lot of different experiences. We also share some things in common, a lot of raw, real emotions. We have our own stories to tell. While psychoeducation is often included in therapy to strengthen awareness, I believe you are the expert in your own life, sometimes we just need someone to walk with us on our journey through the hills and valleys of life.

If you have experienced attachment wounding, trauma, abuse, or neglect, these wounds can often leave you feeling hopeless. However, through a collaborative approach to treatment planning and therapeutic care, we can work together to repair and restore these areas in your life. What does hope mean to you? It may be a small flicker that sustains your daily life. It could be an anchoring source of confidence and resilience. Or hope may hold deep spiritual significance to you. Whatever hope looks like for you, it is my desire to nourish hope in your life through our work together.

Welcome to the beginning of a potentially transforming time in your life. The decision to seek therapy is both scary and courageous as it requires a person to be vulnerable with a perfect stranger. Every time I begin to work with a new person, I am always awed by the motivation and fortitude it takes to make changes in one's life. To explore our fears, motivations, dreams, goals and strengths is not necessarily the norm of our society, however, to embark on this journey provides a significantly more fulfilled life.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
