I primarily work with kids, teens, and young adults, helping them navigate life’s challenges with curiosity, resilience, and self-compassion.
Therapy should feel like a deep breath—the kind that brings clarity, comfort, and the courage to move forward. I believe healing happens when you feel safe enough to explore the tougher parts of life while also discovering your own strength.

My goal is to encourage, empower, and equip individuals of all ages to find their true self and to make the most of their lives. I have experience that spans infancy through geriatrics which has shaped my understanding that it is never too early nor too late to seek therapeutic self-care. As a wife and mother, I value the family dynamic and the need for facilitating opportunities to grow healthy family relationships. My focus in therapy surrounds trauma and attachment. I am also trained in EMDR. I am able to integrate a Christian approach for those desiring a faith-based therapy.

I help clients work toward lasting relief by getting to the core, not just managing symptoms at the surface. I specialize in brain-body based therapy that helps clients access and process trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. My approach is steady, supportive, and attuned to what you need—whether that’s slowing down, digging deep, or simply catching your breath. Therapy with me is about creating space to explore what’s been weighing on you and learning how to move through it with more clarity and ease.

The first thing that anyone says when describing me is, “Alyssa loves her work!”. I’m not only good at providing my clients with a listening ear in times of need and skills to better help them navigate these challenges, but I also really enjoy doing it. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard, to feel that their struggles and challenges are valid and to know that they are not alone.  During my time working in the mental health field, I’ve gained valuable skills in communication, understanding, and patience that I bring to every session.

Everyone encounters challenges in their life that may feel overwhelming. Seeking counseling during these times is a sign of strength, as it suggests the willingness to address problems rather than avoid them. I teach solution-focused tools that clients can use in the real world. I have a collaborative approach with my clients and believe humor and empowerment are key components to therapy. If stressful thoughts are keeping you up at night, it may be a sign that you're ready tackle the things that are holding you back. I would like to help.

As a member of today's society, we are faced with various temptations that either define who we are, or push us to be a better person. With all of these decisions in life, it is comforting to have someone to converse with, someone to trust in, and someone to offer diverse ways of thinking and living.

For the past 10 years particularly, I have primarily focused on working with parents and children who suffer from unsafe, traumatic, and tragic situations.
In the famous words of Eric Matthews, (BMW) “Hey bro, life’s tough, get a helmet!” If only it were that easy, right!? This statement from my old sitcom obsession hit deep the first time I heard it, but has really engraved itself deeper the older, more experienced with life I have gotten. I’ve learned very quickly and/or the hard way that walking around with a helmet on wouldn’t make much of a difference at all and would probably just add to the stressors and hardships of life. Today’s world is different. Today’s world is hard. Today’s world can be scary. But most importantly, you don’t have to go through today’s world alone.
