Our deepest longings are to be seen, known, cherished, and touched. But often we live alone and thirsty in the wilderness. Relationships with families, friends, co-workers, and/or church community may be filled with trauma, anxiety, betrayal, pain, or ongoing stress. We may be in a state of brokenness, completely shut down, trapped by anger and
grief
or stuck in a meaningless rut. Strategies that had once managed life may be working against the relief we desire. Efforts to protect ourselves keep relationships shallow and distant. As a result, there is a deep thirst in our soul that nothing seems to satisfy.

We all have a unique story. One that has highs and lows, things that bring us joy, and things that have caused challenges,
grief
, and heartache. A desire for a life of abundance is written on our hearts. But sometimes our stories include hurdles and barriers that get in the way and keep us from the peace we long for. We often try numerous remedies or try to overcome these barriers on our own. But we aren’t meant to walk that road alone. It is my job as a therapist to create a space of safety, trust, and respect, so that you can explore, unpack, and make meaning of your experiences, and create the change that you want for your life.

Through nonjudgmental perspective exploration I address depression/anxiety, relationship issues,

, and life transitions.
“Start close in…” What in you is hungry for answers? What might your life look like if you were deeply well fed by your choices? People come to me with hunger pangs. They're hungry for deep connection - to themselves, to a partner, to a job, to their life. They come to me craving answers - carrying persistent questions that may be contributing greatly to feelings of starvation, of wanting more. I partner with people who are searching for clarity, purpose, and more meaningful connections both personally and professionally. My clients seek to be better nourished by their life choices and feel more balanced in their relationships.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
