You’re the one everyone else depends on. From the outside, it looks like you're handling everything. But inside? You're exhausted. You're constantly overthinking, overwhelmed by the mental load, and wondering why everything feels so much harder than it seems to for everyone else. Maybe you've spent years wondering why staying organized, managing emotions, or keeping up with daily life feels like such a struggle. Or maybe you're simply at a crossroads—burned out at work, disconnected in your relationship, grieving the version of yourself you used to know, or questioning what's next.

I enjoy using my knowledge of human development and family systems to serve my clients' unique needs. In addition, my experience with children, adults and families helps to cultivate an environment of growth for my clients. I give unconditional regard to all of my clients, and walk with them on their individual journeys. Personal growth can sometimes be uncomfortable, but I assure you, you do not have to experience it alone. Going through discomfort is part of the growth process, and you will be stronger because of it! My hope is that each person I work with will gain insight from guided self-exploration and goal setting.

Life is challenging. There are times when life can get the best of you. You find yourself having a hard time doing normal life routines such as getting out of bed or brushing your teeth. You seem to dread each day because of the constant reminder of feeling stuck, lost, and hopeless. You considered taking back your life but don’t know where to begin.

If you're like me, life can feel overwhelming at times. It's easy for us to get stuck in depression, anxiety, stress, anger, etc. Our emotions and thoughts can take us over if we don't know how to better manage them. Do you find yourself ruminating on the past? Worrying about the future? Getting pissed off about way too many things? It's easy to lose our way in life. If any of this feels familiar, you're not alone. Life is hard, but we can all learn different ways to better manage our own life. You can take control of your life.

At Revision Psychotherapy, I believe that the stories we create, or have been told, about who we are as individuals have a strong influence on our daily lives. They affect our habits, our relationships, our self-concepts, and our choices. These narratives can empower, or they can imprison - but no story is written in stone, and no ending is predetermined. At Revision Psychotherapy, I am committed to helping you tell your story, examine your story, and, if necessary, rewrite your story. My goal for you to is to achieve a sense of autonomy—of being the author of your own life story rather than a character in it.

Finding the right therapist is perhaps the most important part of the therapy process. You want someone you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. You want to know that your therapist has your best interests in mind always, and sees things objectively. You want someone who has advanced training, experience, skill and offers sound encouragement. You want someone who would practice what is recommended and feels called to walk along side you during some of life's most difficult moments. If this is where you are beginning, consider starting here.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. This is a safe, welcoming space where your mental well-being is my top priority. I bring a caring spirit, a good sense of humor, and a strong intuition to every session, helping us create an environment where you feel comfortable and understood. Each session, I like to start with a simple question, like, 'What would you like to focus on today?' or 'Is there something on your mind that you’re ready to work through?' These questions are just a starting point to help us dive in together, with a down-to-earth approach and lots of genuine support for whatever you’re facing.

If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably carrying more than you can put into words. Anxiety may be taking up too much space in your day-to-day life. You may be navigating grief or a loss that has reshaped your world, or adjusting to a major life transition that’s left you feeling unsteady or unsure of what comes next. You may be living with trauma or PTSD, carrying experiences others can’t always see or understand. You may feel emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer fit the life you’re trying to build. You don’t have to sort through it alone. I’m here, and I want to understand your story.

You've spent most of your life being the one who holds things together. The one who notices when something is wrong before anyone says it out loud. The one who steps in, manages, and keeps the peace, not because anyone formally asked, but because it felt necessary. Because someone had to. From the outside, this probably looks like capability. Groundedness. Maybe even strength. But on the inside, it often feels like a weight you didn't choose and can't quite put down. If this sounds familiar, you may be carrying what's sometimes called eldest daughter syndrome, a pattern of over-responsibility and self-sacrifice that develops early.

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
