Let’s come together to discover your courage to grow, adapt, and prosper! Therapy is a beautiful process that empowers us to deepen our self knowledge and make breakthroughs in whatever is holding us back; whether things have gotten too difficult or you’re in a longstanding battle of feeling unwell. Your experiences, relationships, mental health and physical health can all have an impact on how you show up in your life. These experiences can build up over time and erode our sense of peace and confidence. Our relationships become strained and we begin to feel more isolated.

I enjoy using my knowledge of human development and family systems to serve my clients' unique needs. In addition, my experience with children, adults and families helps to cultivate an environment of growth for my clients. I give unconditional regard to all of my clients, and walk with them on their individual journeys. Personal growth can sometimes be uncomfortable, but I assure you, you do not have to experience it alone. Going through discomfort is part of the growth process, and you will be stronger because of it! My hope is that each person I work with will gain insight from guided self-exploration and goal setting.

“It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then.” “Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.” Alice, from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. I like to ask my client's "What has happened to you" versus "What is wrong with you." "How can we get you to where you want to go?" I believe each client has their own story to tell. I am willing to join you on your path...

Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or disconnected. Instead, I take a down-to-earth, relational approach. I work with women navigating anxiety, trauma, postpartum changes, relationship stress, and the mental load of everyday life. You might feel overwhelmed, reactive, stuck in overthinking, or disconnected from yourself. Maybe you’re used to holding it together for everyone else, but feel exhausted underneath it all. Together, we slow things down, make sense of what’s coming up, and build practical tools for emotional regulation, boundaries, and nervous system support so you can feel more grounded, confident, and aligned.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
