I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and and am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Whether I am working with a young child or an adult, I believe that the healing process is a journey of returning home to the authentic self with the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle supporting the exploration. My name is Aimee and I hope to walk along with you on this journey, offering compassion, co-regulation, and some education along the way. When we can lean into the understanding of how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors have come to be, we may also begin to explore where we may have gotten stuck and how we can have a renewed access to the wisdom and assets that our bodies possess.

The most significant part of therapy is your relationship with your therapist, this is why I approach therapy by getting to know you as a whole person and use a collaborative approach to help empower your innate strengths.

I would love to help you find joy in living an authentic life through your unique strengths; To know who you are, feel like you're enough, and not let an eating disorder, trauma, abuse, anxiety, perfectionism, or life's challenges make you feel less deserving or worthy.
Feel like you need to earn your worth, like being anything less than perfect isn't okay? Maybe you're living with an eating disorder that leaves you worrying about or compensating for what you put into your body and trying to control it's shape and size. Do you struggle with self-worth or figuring out and feeling okay with being who you really are? Maybe you've been through trauma or abuse that has left you searching for ways to cope.

Hey! I'm so glad you're here. Do you know how brave you are? The courage it takes to begin counseling is remarkable and I applaud you. My passion is to work with moms. Whether you are a new mom, a seasoned mom, or have a desire to be a mom, I feel honored to be a part of your unique journey. From the moment you consider being a mom, an uncovering of who you've been and who you desire to be can collide. This transformation may feel joyful AND overwhelming; and sometimes this transformation can be met with loss and uncertainty. Wherever you are on your journey, I invite you to come just as you are.

I offer non-judgmental, trauma-informed therapy & enjoy working with clients to identify what change they would like in their life and helping them to achieve those goals.
Change is inevitable in today's world, but what happens when we get stuck? Whether it is unhelpful cycles of communication/interaction with others, difficult relationships, challenging experiences, life transitions, or painful experiences from our family of origin, sometimes knowing how or where to begin can feel overwhelming. Or maybe it seems not worthy of bringing up, feeling unheard or having shame about communicating your wants and needs? Or maybe you just want more satisfaction in your life and relationships. Does this sound familiar? Are you looking for change?

My practice is trauma-informed, which means that I recognize the prevalence of trauma in the general population and take steps to create a comfortable environment that feels safe and empowering for all clients.
Are you struggling with how to navigate through the highs and lows of life? Struggling to find a calming balance and stronger mind-body connection? Trying to "fit in" and feeling isolated? Enduring difficult times often removes us from a sense of who we are or want to be. Our identities get lost as we transition through developmental stages and relationships come and go. I have a passion for supporting teens and young adults dealing with the complexities of life transitions, interpersonal effectiveness, unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety and emotion regulation.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
