Are you a human? Great! You can benefit from therapy. Only semi-joking. On a real note, if you are anxious, depressed, stressed, unable to
sleep
at night, scared, mentally absent, have low self-esteem, experience flashbacks, nightmares/terrors, misuse substances or have a loved one that missuses substances, have difficulty focusing and staying on task and/or have a child that has ADHD, experience anger outbursts and/or abrupt mood changes, carry around childhood wounds from which you have never healed, have difficulty adjusting from a life-changing event, or are riding out the waves of grief, then you are a good fit for therapy.

Make today the day you reach out for help. No problem is too big or too small to work on if it's causing you distress. I have success working with clients that are anxious, losing
sleep
, worrying, feeling depressed, grieving, over thinking, experiencing problems in their relationships and using substances, food, shopping or other unhealthy ways of coping. It's so easy to slip into unhealthy habits, especially if we don't know healthier ways to manage life's stressors . Many of us have been told to "just try harder", or to "pull ourselves up by our bootstraps" and ultimately feel defeated when these strategies don't work.

You’re caught in another thought loop. You try to stop and think about something, anything else. But the harder you fight it, the more stuck you get. You’re lost in endless hypothetical scenarios. What if I lose my job? What if this pain in my side is actually something more serious? You’ve begun to second-guess every decision. Your confidence is at an all-time low. The people in your life have noticed that something is wrong. You don’t know how to tell them that you’re suffocating under the weight of constant fear. That you’re almost ready to give up. You need to make a change, but you don’t know how. It all feels so hopeless.

Do you have an idea of how you want your life to be but feel like you just can't get there? Often times, feelings of anxiety, guilt, shame, or low self-esteem keep us stuck in old patterns leading to problems in our lives. My goal is to help you identify your ideal life, the barriers keeping you from that ideal, and the steps we can take to get you there. Understanding parts of yourself and working to develop healthier patterns of thinking can help you make those changes a reality.

I believe therapy is a way to enrich life and develop connection in a space with compassion and free of judgment. My methods involve treating the whole person, mind, body & spirit. I believe it is important to identify and process emotion, non-verbal communication, somatic expressions and subconscious processes. Memories play a part in how our brains process and store meaning to life. Misinterpreted meaning sometimes becomes internalized and leaves us with unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As we work together we process those memories leaving undesired mind/body connections behind.

I believe everyone can make some positive lifestyle changes, while achieving life goals, and learning to find, and love yourself again. Therapy has the ability to change lives, I see it everyday.

You deserve to LIVE your life fully! Are you stuck, merely existing, on autopilot, and just making it through your day? Pulled in too many directions and disconnected from yourself and the world? Life gets unbalanced and we shut down. Our emotions start taking control of us in the worst possible moments: we avoid with anxiety, isolate with sadness, and hide with guilt. What would you do if your thoughts and emotions didn’t hold you back? I want you to be free to live your life on YOUR terms and find meaning in all areas of life. Together we can work on your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to build your life worth LIVING.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
