You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained, even if things look “fine” on the outside. You might struggle with overthinking, low mood, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from yourself. You want relief, clarity, and a better understanding of your emotions so you can feel more grounded, confident, and at peace in daily life.

Even for the most functional and successful, it's hard not to feel overwhelmed by relationship issues, career challenges, life transitions, or the state of the world in general. I want to help, as a supportive, empathetic listener and collaborator. So often, we don't need to be "fixed" so much as be heard, and that occurs through a real connection. Building that connection can be enlightening, messy, comforting, weird ... even fun. I aspire to show up for all of it, authentically and with compassion (and at times with a cheesy pun or obscure song lyric).

Life can unravel quietly or all at once. Maybe you’ve been holding everything together for too long, or you’ve hit a point where the stress, sadness, anxiety, or constant overthinking feels heavier than it used to. You might be wondering how you ended up here, why things feel so overwhelming, or why it seems like no one truly understands what you’re going through. You don’t have to navigate this alone. I work with individuals, couples, and families who want to feel more grounded, more hopeful, and more in control of their emotional world.

As the oldest child and grandchild in my family, I know firsthand the pressure and pain that can come from being seen as “the strong one.” That lived experience—combined with two decades of clinical work—shapes how I show up for every client. I’ve worked in community centers, hospitals, schools, and now, in my own practice, with people of all ages and identities. Over the years, I’ve realized that my heart lies in supporting individuals and couples who are committed to their healing—even when it’s hard.

I don’t believe your struggles are a mistake or even rooted in a discoverable cause. I focus on how we can stay at the evolving edge of your psychological ecosystem and pay attention to information we find there through nonverbal awareness, dreams, images, and other access points for unconscious material and structure that with cognitive awareness into effective change. Sometimes therapy is a warm blanket, and sometimes it's more like physical therapy, stretching reflexes and habits into new territory.

I am an experienced therapist working with young people. My main goal is that the person I am working with feels respected and that we can work toward a trusting relationship. I enjoy working with clients who have chronic or life changing medical diagnoses, disordered eating, grief and loss, are seeking gender affirming care, or need some support around anxiety, depression, or adjustment to a major life change. I also love working with neurodivergent clients, in particular those who self recognize or are diagnosed later in life.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
