I use EMDR therapy, combined with a compassionate, client-centered approach to treat the underlying trauma and grief at the root of your anxiety.
Resolving trauma helps my clients answer questions like these from a place of peace, not fear: Should we try for another baby? Should I give birth in a hospital or elsewhere? Should I have a C-section or induction or wait to give birth naturally? Is this feeling my "mom intuition" or anxiety? Can I find closure being done having children for health reasons?

You survived a trauma, and now you’re working to untangle your emotions and regain your footing.
My approach is honest, compassionate, and unapologetically real. I bring humor, straight talk, and a nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are. You’ll definitely hear a cuss word or two. We’ll laugh when it’s healing, and we’ll sit with the hard stuff too: the tears, the memories you pushed down, and the emotions you haven’t felt in years.

I help individuals and families address impacts of trauma and other disruptions (survivors of loss of a loved one through violence; divorce, anger management; depression).
You are stronger than you think - and sometimes, all it takes is the right support to rediscover that strength. I love helping clients tap into their resilience as they navigate life’s challenges. My clients often share that they feel more empowered to overcome internal barriers and build more fulfilling relationships at home and at work. Through decades of experience with individuals from diverse backgrounds and many types of families, including adoptive and LGBTQ+ families, I’ve learned to listen deeply and tailor my approach to the unique needs of each person I work with.

You wake up and tell yourself today will be different. Maybe you’ll finally feel lighter, more focused, more “you.” But then the thoughts start crowding in before the coffee even brews—worries about work, the past, or that one conversation you keep replaying. You get through the day, mostly on autopilot, pretending it’s fine. Some days it is. Other days it isn’t. You can’t remember the last time you felt genuinely calm, like your brain wasn’t running a marathon without a finish line.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
