You’re strong, capable, and used to showing up for everyone else — but lately you feel exhausted carrying it all alone. Maybe anxiety feels louder than your intuition. Maybe old trauma keeps resurfacing. Maybe parenthood, relationships, or life transitions have left you wondering where YOU went. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling clearer, more grounded, and more confident trusting yourself again. Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to — someone who balances deep emotional work with practical support.

My greatest passion is for adolescents.
I specialize in working with people who have unstable moods, can act recklessly, struggle with everyday life challenges, relationship challenges whether with a partner, family member or children, people who tend to look for quick comfort with the challenges of life through substances, self-harm, food, etc. I can help you work to learn the underlying causes.

Thank you for your interest in my practice! I am trained in the Transforming Touch modality. It is a Regulation-based approach rooted in the theory that when we experience ruptures during our developmental years, these disruptions continue to affect our lives at any age. These ruptures can be seen as challenges that are behavioral, psychological, spiritual and physical. Developmental Trauma affects every part of our growth and development. It orchestrates how we learn, how we mature, how we relate to others. Transforming Touch is an innovative way of supporting change in our nervous systems so that we can begin to hope and dream.

The poet Rumi said: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." I'm committed to this metaphor for therapy- an open field that is a safe reprieve from outside stressful conditions. I am licensed as both Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), which enables me to diagnose and treat mental health issues, addiction and substance use disorders, and dual-diagnosis cases. It is important to me that each client is authentically respected with regards to their personal beliefs, cultural background, and every aspect of their identity.

Nǐ hǎo / Hello! I am a licensed mental health therapist in Florida with over 20 years of experience helping individuals work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, school-related stress, relationship issues, and major life challenges. Many of the people I support come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward. I believe therapy works best when goals are clear, practical, and measurable, so we can track progress in a meaningful way. I also believe humor can be a powerful part of healing, helping create a more relaxed and human space for growth.

I have learned that youth and adults benefit from listening, understanding, and validation.
Choice and autonomy help us all to feel a sense of empowerment and independence. My goal is to help people live better while making their own, best-and-informed decisions. While pursuing this goal, we will create an environment that furthers self-determination and is free of harsh judgement and negative criticism.

I work best with clients who are ready to do the work—not just talk about change, but actively practice it between sessions. I specialize in trauma-focused work and help clients process difficult experiences while building coping strategies that actually stick. My style is direct, down-to-earth, and grounded in real conversations. I will support you, and I will challenge you. If you value honesty, accountability, and a therapist who will call out patterns that keep you stuck, we’ll likely be a good fit. If you’re looking for someone who will only validate without challenging you, I may not be the right therapist—and that’s okay.

I also support teens and young adults stepping into independence, as well as older adults facing retirement, health changes, or loss—helping clients build resilience, restore balance, and reconnect with meaning.
Blending DBT, ACT, parts work, somatic approaches, and mindfulness, my goal is to help clients build emotional balance, confidence, and a deeper connection to themselves. I strive to create a space where you can bring your whole self — the parts that feel strong and capable, as well as the parts that feel uncertain, tired, or scared.

You are stronger than you think - and sometimes, all it takes is the right support to rediscover that strength. I love helping clients tap into their resilience as they navigate life’s challenges. My clients often share that they feel more empowered to overcome internal barriers and build more fulfilling relationships at home and at work. Through decades of experience with individuals from diverse backgrounds and many types of families, including adoptive and LGBTQ+ families, I’ve learned to listen deeply and tailor my approach to the unique needs of each person I work with.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
