I support teens and young adults facing anxiety, depression, transitions, or gambling.
My greatest passion is helping people heal, grow, and become more self-aware without shame. I don’t just walk beside you on your journey; I help you rediscover the parts of yourself you thought were lost. I offer compassionate, culturally sensitive therapy for individuals, couples, families, and athletes navigating real-life challenges. As a Black woman therapist, I understand the weight of carrying so much for so long and I offer space to unpack, reconnect, and rebuild.

Humanity thrives through relationships, yet these same relationships often spawn challenges creating various levels and types of mental distress. Mental distress leads to second guessing, criticism of self and others, even hopelessness. As a result, gaining a guide to support personal navigation through the situational dynamics are desired in order to gain insight and skills to be confident in steps forward to a better life.

When faced with anxiety or depression, you often wonder if there is anything you can do to truly feel better or transform yourself. It seems like you’ve tried everything, and nothing has worked. Strong emotions are causing other issues -trouble relating with others, over/under eating, problems with work or family relationships or even more serious issues. At times, relationship struggles leave you wondering "should I stay or go?" but it can be hard to navigate this alone. The "real you" is in there, but hard to find. Life's challenges sometimes require a confidential, safe perspective and a space to release old burdens.

There are seasons in life when the opportunity to grow can come from both joyful and challenging circumstances or complicated issues and relationships. It is my hope that in the safe,non-judgmental space of therapy we can begin to discover your core resiliency, strengths and create awareness for integrating healthy coping and communication skills for healing. I enjoy helping couples discover relational dynamics and patterns that keep them from enjoying a safe, close and vibrant relationship. Asking for help is hard and can be very scary, the fear of judgement, the fear of weakness, the fear of "going crazy". Yet I believe reaching out for help is one of the bravest things anyone can do. I have a passion for working with individuals with trauma. I also have a passion for working with children. It is never too late to start feeling better about being yourself, whether the work starts in childhood or later in life. I want to help people find peace in themselves whether through change or through acceptance.

At Bright View Counseling we are breaking the traditional mold of talk therapy and counseling and bringing a new, brighter idea of what therapy could and should look like with our ‘Therapy With A Twist!’ approach. Our therapy approach is holistic, humanistic, and person-focused. We bring the power of the natural world into the therapeutic process. We take walks outside, participate in outdoor activities with clients, and integrate activities and games. We also get a helping paw from our office dog, Charlotte, who comes into sessions to provide a furry friend to hug, pet, and receive emotional support from.

I specialize in anxiety, parenting stress, and supporting teens and college students who are navigating pressure, perfectionism, or identity shifts.
Tired of overthinking everything? I help overwhelmed people slow it down, get clear on what matters, and feel more like themselves again. You’re holding it together—but just barely. From the outside, everything looks fine. Inside? You’re constantly overthinking, snapping at people you love, and lying awake at night replaying conversations. Whether you’re a burned-out parent, a high-functioning professional who’s quietly struggling, or a college student expected to “figure it all out,” you’re tired of managing it all alone.

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
