My work focuses on helping you shift unhealthy family dynamics—addressing patterns like codependency and enabling—while creating a stable path forward after treatment.
Our sessions go beyond talk; they’re a collaborative space to create a concrete plan of action. I integrate CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused therapy to address your concerns from every angle. Since change happens outside the room, we’ll use "homework" to turn daily challenges into opportunities for lasting growth and real-world results.

I work with families seeking support for children and teens struggling with anxiety, behavior issues, or family conflict. Parents often come to me feeling exhausted by arguments, worried about their child's wellbeing, or navigating transitions like divorce or relocation. Many families I help are bilingual or bicultural and appreciate therapy that respects their heritage. They're looking for practical strategies to improve communication, set effective boundaries, and rebuild family connections. Above all, they want their child to develop resilience and emotional skills to thrive through life's challenges.

Life can be challenging, and we are not meant to travel it alone. Each of us, at times, needs another person to walk alongside us as we sort things out. I am honored to serve in this role, working with you through life's difficulties, transitions, tragedies, and triumphs. Very few challenges are insurmountable. Sometimes it just takes some added support.

My clinical interests have grown from general therapy issues into more niche areas such as couples, anxiety, obsessive compulsive behaviors, career, grief, chronic pain, substance abuse, self-injurious behaviors, personality disorders, trauma, and faith-based issues. I have also expanded into psychological testing ranging from personality, differential diagnosis, pre-surgical screening (e.g., spinal cord stimulator implants, bariatric), and cognitive assessments. My experience also includes training medical residents, supervision of masters/doctoral students, consulting, and teaching at a collegiate level.

If you’re here, congrats. Chances are you realize something needs to change. Often times people come to therapy after they’ve already exhausted every resource and option they know. It’s a huge step to ask for help and an even bigger step to show up and take it.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that no longer make sense — even though you’ve tried to manage on your own. Many of the individuals I work with are thoughtful, high-functioning adults navigating anxiety, trauma histories, life transitions, or relationship stress. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.

If you are feeling stuck in familiar but painful relationship patterns, struggle with self-doubt, and life feels ridden with anxiety, every day can feel heavy and draining. I provide a space to process experiences and emotions, both past and present, to develop a more grounded and assured sense of self. I also support children (ages 8+) and teens experiencing similar struggles with big emotions and anxiety, helping them develop regulation skills so they can feel calmer, more confident, and connected at home and in school.

If you’ve found yourself here, chances are you’ve already tried hard—maybe really hard to make things work. You might have sat through couple’s sessions that left you feeling unseen or cycled through the same painful conversations that never seem to change. It’s exhausting to keep showing up and not see the shift you’re longing for. You want connection, peace, maybe even relief—but it feels out of reach.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
