There's only one you! It’s amazing how alike we can be as human beings and yet so different. The best part is we’re all okay! Listen, we don’t have to be experts to know when something is not right. Just reach out. Some call it a leap of faith. Great, if you do ask for help-I'm ready and excited to get started on our journey. But if you aren't ready, I want you to remember that you ARE worth it!

I want you to know that you are NOT alone and healing is possible. Attending therapy is not easy. No one wakes up excited to talk about their struggles, pain, or trauma, and yet, there’s real courage in choosing to face what’s difficult rather than avoid it. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression or unsolved trauma; you don't have to face it alone. I take time to truly listen to your story, understand your goals, and build a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered.

My journey of helping people started when I was a middle school and high school teacher. While working closely with children, I learned about the emotional and developmental issues that they deal with and how it can leave a lasting effect into adulthood if they do not receive help. As a counselor, I use my knowledge, skills, and empathy to help adults and children deal with what they are struggling with and help them increase control of their lives. I look at each individual as their own person who needs individualistic care. Additionally, I incorporate the values and beliefs of my clients to create the most helpful counseling.

I believe in the quiet brilliance that lives within everyone. A light that may flicker beneath exhaustion, doubt, or the weight of being everything to everyone, but never entirely goes out. You are the steady one, the go-to, the fixer of things. Yet in still moments, the whisper comes:
"What if they find out I’m barely holding on?" Here, you are invited to lay it all down.
To exhale.
To listen inward, my mission is to help you return to your own knowing. The fierce, intuitive, radiant self that may have been buried beneath roles, expectations, and the noise of the world.

The work of counseling is soul work, to help you discover and become aware of your own principles of life, your thoughts and feelings, your strengths and growing edges. Let's help you understand your actions and behaviors. My goal for you is a compassionate journey as we unpack the emotional messages you have received throughout your life and examine ways to accommodate or reframe them, to seek freedom. I work with individuals, and some couples to explore ways to encourage options. Counseling is available for short-term and long-term needs.

Accepting New Clients! If you're struggling with relationships, parenthood, or emotional dysregulation, welcome :) I enjoy working with people who want to gain a greater understanding of themselves, process generational trauma, understand the difficult dynamics of adult child-parent relationships, or parenting your own children. Where we've come from tells us a lot about what we need, and I love helping people understand their "why".

Many of my clients are deeply empathetic people who’ve spent years being everything for everyone else. I help them shift from guilt to clarity, from burnout to boundaries, and from over-functioning to alignment. Together we explore the patterns that have kept you stuck, so you can start making choices that reflect your needs and values, not everyone else’s.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
