I enjoy working with clients who actively participate in their therapy. It is important to be ready to enter into therapy. The focus of therapy is on you not the others in your life - for after all you cannot change other people but rather the only person you can change is yourself. I can help you make the changes you want to make. Want to survive a trauma, stay sober, lose weight, interact better with others, recover from a loss, examine a troubled intimacy? This is what I do.
I have 40+ years working with individuals, families, couples, and parent-child dyads. All these situations have involved special issues such as women's issues, domestic violence, divorce, mediation, trauma and abuse recovery, addiction, depression, anxiety, and male empowerment without aggression.
I prefer to use brief interventions where my clients work with me to create the changes necessary for a better quality of life. Many clients find themselves coming for a period of time, making progress then coming back, at later times if necessary for refresher sessions.
