I work with all ages, including those experiencing various stressors such as parenting/fostering/caregiving, life transitions, substance use, and various types of trauma.
We all reach points in our stories where we feel stuck, perhaps because of the cards we’ve been dealt, habits that have come to define us, relationships that feel like a rollercoaster…the list goes on. When I’ve reached those points in my own life, therapy has helped me find a way forward. Now as a therapist myself, I enjoy helping others get unstuck and move towards wider and freer places - where we build in space to pause and reflect, so you can be intentional about how you live and grow.

I am trained in Trauma related issues.
We all have times of suffering in our lives; it is difficult to walk through those times alone. Having gone through my own healing in counseling, and being a "wounded healer" aids me in being able to help others deal with their own suffering. I worked as a youth pastor for 16 years and in the mental health industry for the past 15 years with adolescents, children, and their families. I seek to help families that are having conflict in their home as well as those having school issues.

I’ve worked extensively with children and families who are burden with anger, depression, stress, and trauma, while they are yet pushing themselves towards their goals and full potential.
In today's environment we are all being faced with multiple forms of stress that seeming have no end. Many of us are experiencing strain our relationships. So of us are overwhelmed at work. Others are thriving but do not know how to get to the next level of achievement. Often times we feel that we may have no one to turn to at our most vulnerable points.

I help clients heal these old wounds in two ways: For women, we will quiet your harsh inner critic, heal the trauma behind your need to over-function, and help you find your worth outside of what you "do" for others.
You look like you have it all together, but underneath, you are running on absolute fumes. Whether you're a woman who's exhausted and quietly falling apart under the pressure to be perfect, or a couple tired of feeling like defensive roommates instead of a team—you are not failing. Your burnout and relationship patterns aren't caused by a lack of effort. They are rooted in old survival strategies. When we learn early in life that we can only rely on ourselves, we become hyper-independent over-achievers. It helps us succeed, but it eventually leaves us feeling empty, anxious, and deeply lonely in our relationships.

I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma, which may stem from a variety of sources.
You’re overwhelmed, and the chaos and stress make you question “can life really get any better?” Heartbreak has brought hard feelings you don’t know what to do with. You might even say “I don’t feel like myself” and wonder if something is wrong with you. Your past causes anxiety that you’ve carried for years. You may feel alone and like a burden on others. If this is you, you are not alone.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
