Being human means that we sometimes find ourselves struggling with conflicting and difficult emotions. This is often our experience when faced with challenging issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, life transitions, or difficulty in relationships. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with adults and couples using a compassionate and non-judgmental approach. My style in working with clients is relational and developmental. My work is grounded in Attachment Theory which has taught us over several decades of research that as humans, both children and adults, we are wired for emotional connection with others.
I have trained extensively in Emotionally Focused Therapy, a model that fits my heart and my style as a therapist. EFT is evidence based and remarkably successful in helping couples, families and individuals experience their emotional world (both inside and out) in ways that are corrective and lead to greater emotional resilience and relationship security.
My work with clients is focused on creating a safe space and offering consistent therapeutic support. The bond formed between client and therapist can lead to increased insight and understanding, new clarity, focus, skills and coping strategies, all of which help clients move forward on their life path with greater emotional resilience and ease.
