I help parents, children, and teens make lasting change in behavior, mood, and family interactions using evidence-based strategies that really work. If you are struggling with your child's tantrums, defiance, ADHD, bedtime or homework battles, sibling conflict, anxiety, or depression, we can work together to restore peace in your home, even if your child seems disinterested in therapy or you've already tried everything. You do not have to face these challenges alone, and you do not need years of therapy to make progress. You just need a professional with the right specialty, and a good plan to get things back on track.

There may be times in our lives where circumstances, relationships or life events are impacting our well-being. I specialize in working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma-related symptoms, communication challenges, and relationship issues. My goal is to be a collaborative partner who will provide you with the skills and tools to navigate through the process of self-discovery, coping and healing. It is courageous to take the first step, and I respect and honor the vulnerability that comes with the process of beginning counseling. I assure you that there is hope and that change is achievable.

Life transitions can be challenging. Adjusting to new roles in life, new relationships, and new dynamics all create opportunities for growth as well as sources of stress. If you are struggling with transitions, you are not alone. Some of the most challenging life transitions to navigate can happen around pregnancy, parenting, and the postpartum period. Whether you are experiencing perinatal mood or anxiety challenges, dealing with loss, or struggling to adapt to a new way of life, I want to help you navigate this season with grace, grit, and self compassion.

Taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage and self-care. It's a recognition that your story matters, your struggles deserve attention, and healing is possible. Therapy isn’t about 'fixing' what’s broken but uncovering strengths, building resilience, and navigating life with clarity. My warm, collaborative approach provides a safe space to explore your story, identify patterns holding you back, and develop tools to overcome obstacles. Together, we’ll work toward the fulfilling life you envision.

Partner 1: "I reach for you, but it feels like you’re already gone. I’m left wondering if I matter to you at all." Partner 2: "When you come close, I feel the pressure to be perfect. I can’t get it right, so I pull back to protect us both." These unspoken messages live under the surface in many relationships. One partner is aching for connection, the other is protecting against pain—both are lonely, both are longing, both are stuck. I help couples break free from this anxious–avoidant cycle so they can feel safe, seen, and deeply connected again.

Sometimes healing happens best outside the four walls of an office. My therapy sessions take place along the Company Mill Trail at Umstead State Park—walking through the trees, pausing at the river, and reflecting on the path we’ve taken together. Nature offers metaphors for the challenges we face: roots that trip us up, rivers that carry us forward, and trails that remind us growth is a process of moving one step at a time. Movement often helps untangle thoughts and feelings. Being outdoors can lower stress, improve focus, and make it easier to open up.

Throughout life’s journey we all face challenges that bring about uncertainty and frustration: Marital or Parenting issues; Relationship concerns; Depression; Anxiety; Work-life balance issues; Life transitions; Mental/emotional baggage. At times we face these difficulties alone, attempting to remain independent and strong. However, filtering through life alone can lead to burnout. Fortunately, we do not have to manage life’s pressures alone. There is a way that we can work through each concern, cope with our problems in a healthy way, and begin to feel lightweight and free as we continue life's journey.
