As a young girl, I've always had the passion to help others. I recall stating in high school that I would be a social worker or psychologist and here I am, Ms. LCSW! I'm a very warm, caring, and nurturing individual who creates a safe, non-judgment space for people to be open and honest with themselves as they continue to grow and thrive in the desired areas of life. Early on I had the opportunity to connect with positive people who influenced healing, growth, inner peace, and many great things in my life so it's a part of my life purpose to do the same for others.

Medication is not the only answer. It is only one piece of the puzzle and can only address part of the problem. One cannot emphasize enough the role of exercise, a healthy diet, getting a good nights rest, learning healthy coping skills, setting healthy boundaries, prioritizing our life and setting realistic expectations. We want people to know they are more than a diagnosis. We want our team to make a change in our patients' lives so that they can care for themselves, their family and finally, their community.

You’ve tried the parenting books, the podcasts, and even other therapies — but nothing seems to work for your kid. You love your child fiercely, but you're exhausted and overwhelmed by the meltdowns. Maybe they've struggled ever since they were toddlers, or maybe something happened to spur it on (like a medical diagnosis or a trauma). You wonder whether you’re doing something wrong, or if your child will ever outgrow these big feelings. You wish someone would just see what you see, tell you the right things to say, and have it work. I can help you see fast-paced, real change in months— not years.

My counseling practice is tailored to working with adults with issues including relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, parenting issues, life stressors and transitions, and spiritual crises. It can be difficult finding the "right fit" in a counselor and I am available to discuss my approach more fully and answer questions prior to the first appointment. For individual issues I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach which has proven to be highly effective in a reasonable time frame. In couples counseling I work quickly to identify areas where couples get "stuck" and identify practical tools that have been proven effective.

We often talk about going to therapy the way we talk about going to the doctor: seeking an expert opinion about a problem and hoping for, yet dreading, the solution. Therapy is actually more like playing a sport or going to the hairdresser, where you build a relationship based on trust, perspective, and mutual goals but you are the one in control. The most important part of the healing process is actually this therapeutic relationship that we build together. From the very first conversation, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, safe, and understood.
