If you're struggling with anxiety, sleepless nights, or the stress of living with a chronic illness, it can feel like you're constantly juggling more than you can handle. These challenges can take a toll on your mental and physical well-being leaving you feeling overwhelmed and drained (I've been there!). But it doesn't have to be this way.

I help high-achieving couples untangle the patterns keeping them stuck and find their way back to each other with more clarity, steadiness, and genuine connection.
You've built a life that looks exceptional on paper. But something has quietly shifted...and now you're navigating distance, repeated conflict, and the exhausting sense of being misunderstood by the person who's supposed to know you best. The same cycles keep repeating. Conversations that start with good intentions and end in shutdown, silence, or a debate about who "always" or "never" does what. You're not ready to give up but you're running out of patience for the version of your relationship you're living right now.

I also work with couples who want to repair emotional disconnection and rebuild something real.
Hey, I see you. You are doing everything right on the outside. Showing up, performing, holding it all together for everyone around you. But on the inside something feels off. You are tired in a way that sleep doesn't fix. Disconnected from yourself in a way that's hard to explain. Ready — maybe for the first time — to put yourself first. That is exactly the kind of work I do.

You may feel overwhelmed, on edge, or emotionally exhausted without fully understanding why. Small moments can feel disproportionately intense, rest rarely feels restorative, and relationships may feel harder than they should. Even when life looks stable from the outside, something inside feels unsettled. These patterns often come from trauma—especially early or relational experiences that shaped how you learned to attach, cope, and protect yourself. Trauma may have shaped you, but it doesn’t have to define you. Healing begins by understanding its roots so you can grow beyond its branches.

I really believe therapy should be a place where you can just be—without having to explain yourself, filter what you’re feeling, or change parts of who you are to be understood. If you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just not quite like yourself lately, you’re not alone. Maybe you’re figuring out your identity, moving through a relationship shift, or navigating a life transition that feels like a lot to hold by yourself.

I work with adults of all ages, especially Black and brown men, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and college students. As a personal witness to the lack of competent mental health care, especially for queer Black men, I work towards closing that gap. My work with clients encompasses career transitions, relocation, relationship issues, life transitions, living with physical disabilities, suicidal ideations, and depression.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
