I believe that every problem has a solution and that solution lies within the person that is experiencing the problem. Life is to be enjoyed and if you are not enjoying your life it could be because of distractions. It is those distractions that sometimes causes us to feel overwhelmed, unhappy, frustrated and sometimes empty. My goal as a therapist is to help you explore those distractions and become the best version of yourself. It is my duty as a therapist to develop a rapport with each individual and create an empathic, open, understanding judgment, and bias-free environment for immediate and lasting change

Accepting New Clients - Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. Mental health is rarely a linear path and too often we feel like progress needs to be measured in the here and now. I enjoy working with clients that are seeking to address areas in their life that they are struggling with. The client I tend to work best with is someone who is willing to look at their life with an open mind and a willingness to work on asserting more control in their journey. I am inclusive of all and pass no judgement as all of us need a space to safely explore our needs.

One of my favorite quotes is "Be who you needed when you were younger" because it resonates with me and my experiences in life. At times, we all find ourselves in need of support due to the challenges we're facing. I'm here to help you navigate through these challenges and discover how to become your own biggest supporter to have a more fulfilling life. I create a bias-free and non-judgmental space for clients to open up and be their authentic selves and explore, learn, and grow towards better health.

I am passionate about helping men who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. These issues can feel overwhelming, especially when compounded by societal pressures, personal experiences, and discrimination. Many of the men I work with struggle with feelings of inadequacy, identity conflicts, or the heavy expectations to provide and protect. My goal is to offer a supportive space where you can rebuild confidence, develop healthier coping skills, and face these challenges with resilience. No matter where you are on your journey, I'm here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

As a therapist I am intuitive, humorous, and respectful. I pride myself in forming comfortable relationships with my clients and truly believe that all people can be happy. If nothing else, this is my goal for our work together. I am willing to bet there are things you are already doing to improve your situation and, you may not be noticing the good you are causing in your life. I hope together we can decide what is helping you, what could be helping you, and add significantly to your ability to roll with life's up's and down's.

Freud is credited with stating that two things really matter in life: love and work. I help people find greater satisfaction with a) their relationships with themselves and others, and b) what they do to make meaning in their lives. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to help you maximize your spiritual, physical, and emotional potential. Operating from an orientation which draws primarily on a combination of contemporary psychoanalytic, attachment, and neurobiological perspectives, I am fully committed to walking with you on your journey toward greater satisfaction and fulfillment.

Life moves fast—school, work, relationships, family pressure—it all stacks up. And too often, guys are told to just deal with it, to “man up” and keep pushing. But bottling it up? That’s not strength—that’s survival mode. And you deserve better than just getting by. Whether you’re a preteen figuring things out, a teen navigating pressures, or a grown man carrying the weight of expectations, you don’t have to do it alone.

Male Therapists

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
