I work best with people who are ready—or even just curious—about making meaningful changes. You don’t need to have it all figured out. If you’re open to exploring healthier behaviors and new perspectives, I’ll meet you where you are, without judgment or pressure. I am a US Army veteran, so I understand complex experiences. You won’t shock me, and you won’t be shamed. I offer a safe space to unpack what’s heavy and build tools to move forward—with insight, collaboration, and a little humor.

Many Christians, military service members, first responders, and high-responsibility leaders carry stress that few others fully understand. Trauma, moral injury, burnout, anxiety, and relationship strain can quietly erode faith, resilience, and marriage. I provide trauma-informed, evidence-based counseling rooted in a Christian worldview, helping clients process hardship, strengthen relationships, and pursue lasting growth grounded in Scriptural truth.

I didn't learn about struggle from a textbook. I learned it from life. Twenty years of crisis work taught me what really matters when someone's world falls apart. Now I'm bringing those hard-won lessons into the therapy room. If you're stuck between worlds, carrying something too heavy, or navigating storms you never saw coming, I get it. I've walked through addiction, displacement, family chaos, and cultural upheaval with people across the globe. My clients aren't looking for quick fixes. They want someone who truly understands that healing takes time and every story matters.

Life presents difficulties that can cause us to stumble and grow to overwhelm us - such as significant loss (of job or a loved one) and a difficult (hurtful) relationship or family situation. These challenges often trigger feelings of hopelessness or anger, a sense of low self-esteem, insecurity, or intense grief from loss. Some of us, may experience clinical symptoms - depression, anxiety, personality traits or chronic medical conditions. How we cope with life’s challenges and our emotions can determine if we find a sense of balance. Your emotional wellbeing is critical to your overall health and happiness.

Often we as people feel forgotten, invisible or not wanted. No matter how hard we try to be positive, it seems that negativity reigns. When these feelings and thoughts arise, we all need support and compassion. Encouragement and Empathy through the worst of times can hug tight through the good times. This is what I can provide. Anyone can have a bad day and everyone can have an excellent day. My goal is to prepare others for the bad days and encourage the belief that bad days do not have to last. If you are suffering from feelings of sadness, anger, neglect, depression, ADHD, addiction and low self confidence I would like to help.

Imagine having a therapist who not only has over 25 years of experience but who also views his profession as an art form. Inspired by my grandfather, an artist who faced his own mental health challenges, I’ve embraced his belief that true artistry involves working with your hands, mind, and heart. This philosophy shapes my therapeutic practice, allowing us to approach each session with dedication, creativity and care.

The poet Rumi said: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." I'm committed to this metaphor for therapy- an open field that is a safe reprieve from outside stressful conditions. I am licensed as both Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), which enables me to diagnose and treat mental health issues, addiction and substance use disorders, and dual-diagnosis cases. It is important to me that each client is authentically respected with regards to their personal beliefs, cultural background, and every aspect of their identity.

Hello, and welcome! I fully believe that every person brings an individualistic perspective to the table - Shaped by their own identities, experiences, and challenges. It's most important to create a space where we can explore unique solutions together and model healthy communication and relationships. My hope is that we explore emotions, practice vulnerability, and work towards personal goals together. I also acknowledge how my identities and statuses of privilege show up and I intentionally operate with an anti-racism lens to help empower clients to show up authentically.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
