My ideal client is someone struggling with substance use who is ready to break free from old patterns. Their challenges often include shame, isolation, and managing cravings or triggers. They need a safe, non-judgmental space to rebuild trust in themselves and others. Their goals are to find sustainable recovery, improve relationships, and regain a sense of purpose. They want freedom from addiction, not just to stop using substances, but to create a meaningful, fulfilling life they can be proud of.

As a therapist, I pride myself on breaking free from traditional constraints and fostering a warm, inviting atmosphere, filled with laughter and a touch of quirkiness. You look fine on paper. You don't feel anything but. You're still showing up. Still performing. Still being the person everyone depends on — and something underneath is running on empty. You're not falling apart on the outside. And that's exactly what makes this so hard to explain to anyone. You've tried therapy. Mindset work. Podcasts. Morning routines. Every wellness strategy out there. Some of it helped until it didn't. That's not because you didn't try hard enough. You just don't have the map yet. I'm a therapist in Raleigh, NC working with adults who are exhausted in ways nobody else can see. Virtual for NC and CT.

Video on Website Link - Not Accepting New Clients at this time - I believe life should be a lot easier then it is. We all get pushed past our limits that challenge who we think we are. The pressure changes us into different people. How do we get past reacting to life and get on to living life intentionally? The answer is not easy, because there are many factors that fracture our attention, steal our resources, and prevent progress. My job is to help change these factors to set you up for success and aid in defining what success means for you.

Life doesn’t always give you space to catch your breath. The pressure to keep up with responsibilities, expectations, and your emotions can leave you drained and uncertain about where to turn. You don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy is a place to step back, reflect, and regain balance. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, past wounds, or major life changes, you deserve a supportive space where your voice matters and you feel truly understood.

I offer therapy sessions in-person and virtually in Raleigh, NC.
If you're a parent and lie awake at night worrying about if your child or teen is okay, this might be the place for you. Many of the parents who reach out to me say some version of the same thing, "She's smart and capable, but has difficulty starting homework projects and becomes anxious when it's time to take a test." She becomes irritable and shuts down at home from holding it together all day." Your child might be putting intense pressure on himself. You may see friendship stress that feels all consuming, big reactions to small problems, having trouble staying on task, and you don't know whether to push her or back off.

Are you exhausted from carrying it all — the weight of motherhood, the pain of broken relationships, the pressure to hold everything together while quietly falling apart? You are not alone. And you don't have to keep going through this by yourself. Maybe you just had a baby and nothing feels the way you expected it to. Maybe you keep attracting the same relationships and can't figure out why. Maybe you've been strong for so long that you've forgotten what it feels like to just be. Whatever brought you here — it matters. You matter.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
