How beautiful is it that no matter the pain we've trudged through to get here, there's still a part of us whispering: I matter. I deserve love & peace & healing. I am more than the story I've been told. You might be cringing right now if you grew up in an environment that made you feel otherwise- you feel unloveable, broken, too needy, too sensitive. Somehow, you're too much and not enough at the same time. I specialize in trauma-informed, somatic therapy, focusing on individuals ages 16+ healing from long term effects of complex trauma, chronic depression/anxiety, low self esteem, and difficulty with your body image and food.

When I was a defiant and moody adolescent, my parents sought therapy for me. The therapy room was one of the only places in which I felt understood. I was able to learn great insight into how I think and understanding others' perspectives. It was through that experience that I was inspired to create an environment for others that was both validating and encouraging. I try to establish a therapeutic relationship that enables each person to make progress with their goals, whether it be their self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, managing challenging emotions, or getting through an especially challenging life event.

The unpredictability of our world requires the ability to pivot. A pivot can be defined as a fundamental change in your direction. It requires attention, persistence, and the ability to re-evaluate a new approach when factors change and shift. Although life’s pivotal moments can be painful, they also create an opportunity to do just that. Major life changes such as divorce, career shifts, relocation, or entering a new phase of life can be overwhelming. It is possible to pivot to a path that leads to true fulfillment. This concept is what we believe plants the seeds for post traumatic growth. We focus on that. We focus on results.

With 20+ years of experience, I am especially adept at working with: 1) college & grad students, recent graduates, and young-to-middle age professionals experiencing anxiety, social anxiety, life transitions, perfectionism, and relationship challenges; 2) adults with medical diagnoses; 3) healthcare providers and educators; 4) women with midlife challenges.
I help adults who feel overwhelmed and unable to live life fully due to anxiety, fear, worry, and depression. My specialty is the treatment of anxiety disorders, adjustment disorder, and interpersonal/relational issues in quarter-life adults (ages 18 - early 40s). Specifically, I treat generalized anxiety, social anxiety, complex/relational trauma, and anxiety caused by circumstances such as acute or chronic illness, life transition, loss, relationship difficulties, and social isolation. I help clients understand the ways that anxiety limits their lives. Since chronic anxiety often leads to depressive symptoms, I treat that as well.

I love working with children, adolescents and families who are struggling and needing support for home, school and peer success. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, but I'm also experienced in working with adults. I’ll help you figure out if it’s anxiety or ADHD, depression or suicide risk, intellectual disability or a processing delay. I’ll assist you in using the evaluation results to determine next steps, whether it’s getting an IEP for your fifth-grader or finding ways for you to cope with your childhood trauma. I’ll advocate for you and your family and make sure we find a clear path to reaching your goals.
