I like to utilize humor and relatability. I pull from a person-centered approach, ACT, mindfulness, IFS parts work, and attachment modalities. I feel that I can best support people by understanding the experiences and systems that shape them – things like systems of power, family, culture, religion and their communities.

As an experienced therapist, having worked with thousands of women, I believe that every woman can find freedom from the pressures we so often place on ourselves.
You want to appear successful, like you have it “all together” but deep down are struggling to feel confident in who you are or cope with challenging experiences that have occurred in your life. You feel the pressure to be perfect all the time and you spend a lot of your time making sure everyone else is taken care of, but you some how neglect your own needs. Maybe you’re tired of stressing out, tearing yourself apart every time you mess up, or feeling like you’re about to crumble at any second. At this point, it may be hard to even remember when you didn't feel like this. But one thing is for sure, you’re ready for some relief.

I specialize in working with women, particularly women who struggle with people-pleasing behaviors that were likely programmed by societal and familial norms.
Many people associate self-care with hygienic practices, but there is a lot that can be done to care for your mind as well as your body. As a therapist and yoga instructor, I incorporate a mind-body approach to my therapeutic work with clients. If you're ready to take a step towards self-compassion, you've come to the right place.

With 20+ years of experience, I am especially adept at working with: 1) college & grad students, recent graduates, and young-to-middle age professionals experiencing anxiety, social anxiety, life transitions, perfectionism, and relationship challenges; 2) adults with medical diagnoses; 3) healthcare providers and educators; 4) women with midlife challenges.
I help adults who feel overwhelmed and unable to live life fully due to anxiety, fear, worry, and depression. My specialty is the treatment of anxiety disorders, adjustment disorder, and interpersonal/relational issues in quarter-life adults (ages 18 - early 40s). Specifically, I treat generalized anxiety, social anxiety, complex/relational trauma, and anxiety caused by circumstances such as acute or chronic illness, life transition, loss, relationship difficulties, and social isolation. I help clients understand the ways that anxiety limits their lives. Since chronic anxiety often leads to depressive symptoms, I treat that as well.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
