I am a cognitive behavioral therapist with a family systems perspective.
Abraham Maslow: "If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life." Are you living the life you want? Each of us has a story developed from our perceptions and experiences. My role is to instill hope and value, promote self-actualization, teach skills, and guide you in a supportive way.

" It is possible that your belief that your intelligence and success shield you from ever experiencing issues in relationships or marriage, with family or mental health such as depression or a type of anxiety such as general or social.
As a wife of an Army Veteran, mother, and several life roles I can relate and get it : the truth is that in life many of us require support to navigate phases of life or challenges. I am licensed and can see patients in the states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Oregon, and Washington.

Later, as a social worker, I continued in these areas and also worked closely with chronically ill adults and impacted families.
OH self pay only at this time. Currently training in EMDR. Life is filled with ups and downs. Depression, anxiety, and grief are among the most common reasons people seek a counselor. There is good reason for optimism - for many, these challenges are temporary. Any significant life event can cause upsets and create hardships adjusting. You are certainly not alone. Small steps and changes can lead to big differences in lives. Goals need to be reasonable and not overwhelming, accomplished at the client's pace. Spirituality is important - I recognize the impact that a person's culture, values, and faith can have in the healing process.

Life can be challenging and hectic. The daily activities that you engage in often creates a level of stress that you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed, leading to burn out. The demands and obligations of work, school, and home can overshadow your needs to care for yourself and accomplish your goals. The emotional impact of not being where you want to be in life can determine how you perceive yourself, your outlook on life, and your relationships. You may even feel like that what you desire is unobtainable due to current circumstances and past experiences. You are not alone in how you feel. There is hope.

If you’re feeling depressed, or having difficulty with friendships/relationships/ family/job, therapy can help.
My style of therapy is direct, and firm, however, still respectful, and compassionate. My approach will challenge the way you think, and challenge your awareness of your feelings. I will support you to forgive yourself emotionally regarding experiences that were traumatic, painful, overwhelming, confusing, and toxic.

I use person centered and strength based strategies along with cognitive behavioral therapy at times, to find creative ways to help children and their families solve their problems.
"The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct" (Carl Jung). I find great joy in working with children of all ages in a therapy setting. It's an honor to me when a child chooses to trust me with their wishes, their fears, and their wonders about life. I have experience working with children individually, in hospitals, and through non-profit work in the community. Through the use of play and arts based therapies, I help to facilitate an environment where children are able to truly be themselves, express their emotions, and have the ability to create the answers they need for themselves.
