I accomplish those goals using emotionally focused therapy, psychoeducation, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I often look at life as a roller coaster. It's filled with ups and downs, twists and turns. Some of the things that life throws our way we are not prepared for and have felt as though we have no one to turn to. In the past therapy was frowned upon and what happens in the family was suppose to stay in the family, but if healing has never taken place and we have not learned new ways of handling the twist and turns of life we tend to repeat generational patterns. We were not meant to live alone so why should we have to go through difficult situations alone? We shouldn't! Professional help is available so let's start healing.

I primarily focus on the use of Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as my foundational therapeutic modalities.
The stories of our lives have a tremendous impact on who we are as people, and how we feel. As a narrative-based therapist, it is my privilege to be invited to witness your story and be part of the change that you are seeking. With training in marriage and family therapy comes a unique understanding of how relational experiences, how you grow up, communities, and society as a whole can impact how each person interacts with and understands the world around them. I operate from a neurodivergent affirming and trauma-informed style, and seek to offer a compassionate and understanding atmosphere while inviting you to challenge yourself.

I integrate experiential, insight-oriented modalities including EMDR, ACT, IFS; and EFT, IFIO, and Gottman Method for couples.
You are hoping to understand how early experiences shaped you and how to guide the unprocessed energy in your body to a safety in the present. You may “know what’s wrong” or “how it happened” but struggle to break out of old patterns that feel locked in place. You are ready to explore and get curious toward the burdened parts of yourself that may have been your protection or solace from the world around you. If this sounds like you, I’m so glad you’re here & I hope to have the opportunity to work alongside you in your journey home to Self.

I achieve this mainly through Emotion Focused Therapy ( EFT), which looks at how we bond with our partners and how negative communication patterns impact our relationships.
Aside from EFT, I also pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. In my two years of practice I have been exposed to many populations and presenting problems, though I mainly work with adults and couples. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, PTSD, affairs, sexual issues, and other relationship issues.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.
Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.
What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.
What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
