There are times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed, unmotivated, and disconnected. We lose sight of who we are and what we want. It is my belief that all humans are capable of growth and contentment. That, through practicing self-awareness and self-acceptance, we are able to re-examine beliefs, behaviors, and patterns of protection that keep us from connection and creating joy. I utilize an integrated and relational approach to work with clients on becoming "unstuck" from anxiety, depression, trauma, body image issues, relationship concerns, challenging life transitions, impacts of oppressive systems, and limiting beliefs.

Choosing the right therapist can be a challenging decision, especially when they are working closely with you or your child. It’s important to find someone who listens to and understands your concerns while also being supportive and nurturing. I want to emphasize that I provide a safe environment where empathy, encouragement, and laughter are integral parts of the therapy process. Most importantly, I believe that building a strong relationship with each individual is essential for healing.

As a dance/ movement therapist, I use movement to provide a physical dimension to traditional “talk” therapies.
I use an integrated counseling approach and seek to encourage clients to reach their full potentials, using strength-based movement approaches, while educating them about wellness and recovery. I seek to match the therapeutic approach with client need. I also have a focus on trauma treatment.

Do you feel like you’re always “on,” carrying old pain, perfectionism, or the weight of being the strong one? Maybe you grew up feeling you had to survive, so you silenced your needs, hid your fear, and pushed through even when everything inside you wanted rest. Now, your anxiety, depression, and hyper-independence shows up in ways others don’t see. You want peace but don’t know how to slow down without guilt. Therapy with us is a place to pause, finally be seen, and learn compassionate ways to heal from childhood trauma and constant stress.

We might talk, laugh, cry, or even dance it out as we explore healing together.
I use a mash-up of approaches—like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dance/ Movement Therapy, Access Bars, and mindfulness-based practices—to create a whole-you kind of experience. Whether that means talking things through, moving your body, or quieting your busy brain, we’ll shape your therapy to feel as natural and supportive as your favorite hoodie.

Within that safe and compassionate container, I use somatic practices, expressive arts, play, movement and narrative techniques to help people access deeper truths.
You might feel a little lost right now. Or a lot lost. Things that you used to love don't excite you anymore and you feel disconnected or discontent with your daily life. You're in between a reality that you have known for a long time and new a one that is unfamiliar and hazy. Maybe this is a tangible, observable shift in lives: you're getting a divorce, you've moved to a new place, you've quit or lost your job. Or maybe this is an internal liminal space - your current life doesn't seem to fit any more, but you don't know what's next. Parents - I also specialize in behavioral support for preschoolers!

You may be thoughtful, sensitive, and self-aware, yet still feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that don’t seem to change. Many of my clients have a history of trauma, chronic stress, or complex relationship dynamics and want more than surface-level coping strategies. You may be seeking deeper self-understanding, more internal ease, and the ability to feel safer and more connected in your life and relationships.

Most recently graduated with my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LU; I am currently in school to become an RPT and Dance Movement Therapist at UNCP.
I know how heavy life can get when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’ve been carrying too much for too long. Let's untangle those knots — whether that’s stress from work, struggles in relationships, or just that quiet feeling of ‘I’m not myself anymore. "In our sessions, we don’t just talk — we get creative. That might mean art, storytelling, or even turning your favorite hobbies into tools for healing. It’s not about forcing you into a box. It’s about building a process that fits you." "If you’ve been waiting for the ‘right time’ to start, this is your sign. Let’s create a space where you feel seen, heard, supported.

What can I expect from dance/movement therapy?
During dance therapy, the therapist will guide the client through dance movements that metaphorically represent a particular challenge, reflect their internal emotional state, or otherwise express physically what is happening for the client mentally. The therapist may “mirror” the client’s movements or simply observe. The client may be encouraged, as they dance, to pay attention to their breath or other physical sensations. Afterward, the therapist and client will often debrief to help the client process the experience. Is dance/movement therapy evidence-based? A small body of research has found that dance therapy can help treat conditions like depression, PTSD, anxiety, and eating disorders, as well as nonclinical issues like low self-esteem or family conflict. However, some experts caution that the evidence in favor of dance therapy is not as robust as that of other, more established therapies, and some of the published research is of low quality. Many recommend that dance therapy be used as a complementary rather than stand-alone treatment. Can dance therapy help with depression? Some research suggests that dance/movement therapy can aid in the treatment of depression, especially when combined with other therapies; some studies, for example, report that dance therapy combined with antidepressants or talk therapy is more effective than those treatments alone. The positive effects of dance therapy may come from the movement itself, as it’s well-known that physical activity can improve mood and bolster motivation in those struggling with depression. What are the limitations of dance therapy? People with disabilities or other conditions that hinder movement may find it more challenging to participate in dance therapy, though a well-trained therapist will take a client’s physical limitations into account when designing a treatment plan. Experts also warn that certain conditions, particularly eating disorders, should never be treated with dance therapy alone; it may, however, be used as an adjunct therapy.
