Thank you for your interest in my practice! I am trained in the Transforming Touch modality. It is a Regulation-based approach rooted in the theory that when we experience ruptures during our developmental years, these disruptions continue to affect our lives at any age. These ruptures can be seen as challenges that are behavioral, psychological, spiritual and physical. Developmental Trauma affects every part of our growth and development. It orchestrates how we learn, how we mature, how we relate to others. Transforming Touch is an innovative way of supporting change in our nervous systems so that we can begin to hope and dream.

I believe that every human is shaped by an interplay of factors that come from within and without the person. That is to say that the power of therapy comes from a deeper understanding of the forces inside and out that shape a person into a unique individual. I also find that the center of psychotherapy is the relationship--the relationship with those in one’s life, the relationship with the therapist, and the relationship with oneself. Whether you are seeking therapy to find a deeper purpose in your life, or you are experiencing life’s challenges in the form of pain, anxiety, depression, loss, or conflict, I am here to help.

I consider my role as therapist to be one of the most sacred parts of my life. Not because of my own effort, but because of the beauty inherently found in walking alongside people in search of safety, meaning, belonging, healing, hope, and love. In and through each therapeutic relationship I build, I walk away changed and inspired by people’s capacity to forgive, grow, accept, change, and see the beauty in themselves and the world around them. Nothing brings me more joy than instilling hope and witnessing the magic of others overcoming difficult experiences.

“Trauma” happens when a situation or an event overwhelms a person’s ability to cope, when the mind, the body, or the spirit shuts down or goes offline in order to get through the moment. Amazingly, while we may not have clear and whole memories of the event, the mind, the body, and the spirit have a memory of their own. Because of this, we can develop ways of seeing, relating, and experiencing the world that make life difficult. These difficulties can range from anxiety and depression to flashbacks or dissociation. They can make it harder to trust people, God or oneself. And it can leave you feeling lost or without purpose in life.

If so, you might suffer from what I call the Good Daughter Syndrome - and I wrote the book on it... like literally. The book, the online course, and coaching.... specifically for this particular problem. If you are in the Good Daughter Role, I can help, and it will be a life-changer.

Because there is no 'one size fits all' to therapy, my approach is integrative and tailored to meet the specific needs of my clients. From a trauma-focused perspective, exploring attachment styles, we will look at unhealthy patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that continue to hold you back. Let's work to identify new ways to create change and to move closer to where you want to be. I have a passion for working with young adults, high-achieving women of color, and clients navigating the challenges of single parenting, dating and relationships. 'Just because you carry it well doesn't mean that it isn't heavy.' It's ok to prioritize you.

Not all pain is physical. This is an important part of how I approach working with clients. We can be impacted mentally, emotionally, and spiritually during our lives. Life circumstances can test what we think and know about the world. As a therapist, I believe in the human capacity for change no matter the situation, and I help individuals develop skills for communication, resilience, building relationships, and resolving conflict.
