No judgement here. As a Christian Counselor, I help Christian women and girls age 10+ with anxiety , depression, anger management, low self-esteem, ADHD, and feelings of rejection, guilt, and shame and stress management. I also support women who are struggling with issues dealing infidelity and divorce. I believe self-care post divorce is so important. I help men and boys 13+ with anger management. For couples, I provide pre-marital counseling. My approach is non-judgmental, safe and caring which I believe are essential to the healing process of moving forward. Individuals DO NOT have to be Christian. Christian views are not forced on individuals.

I like to meet a client where he/she is in the moment. I use a biopsychosocial approach in a therapeutic setting. I am interested in the person as a whole...their emotional issues, their physical concerns, their family and social networks. I primarily treat people with depression, anxiety , and post traumatic stress disorder. I use a psychodynamic theoretical model to formulate an understanding of clients' symptoms and draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, short term solution focused, and trauma based treatment techniques. I enjoy working with clients who are curious about their behavior and who are willing to engage in creative solutions to problems.

I believe that every human is shaped by an interplay of factors that come from within and without the person. That is to say that the power of therapy comes from a deeper understanding of the forces inside and out that shape a person into a unique individual. I also find that the center of psychotherapy is the relationship--the relationship with those in one’s life, the relationship with the therapist, and the relationship with oneself. Whether you are seeking therapy to find a deeper purpose in your life, or you are experiencing life’s challenges in the form of pain, anxiety , depression, loss, or conflict, I am here to help.

Performance anxiety can become crippling and make it feel like you’re never reaching your full potential and striving for “perfection” can take over your artistry and personal life.
Being a high-achieving, sensitive person can feel like a gift and a curse. These traits might be part of what make you really good at what you do and might also make it feel really hard to do what you do all in the same moment. Actors, musicians, performers and creative artists are often asked to create from their sensitivities while being put in settings and circumstances where their sensitivities are heightened. This dichotomy can make it feel really challenging to do what you love and “be ok” at the same time.

I provide guidance for clients with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety , OCD, depression, traumatic events, challenging childhoods, and feeling overwhelmed, stressed and “not good enough,” but most importantly, I enjoy helping folks navigate the challenges of being human in a world that is constantly telling us how we’re “supposed” to be. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental and down-to-earth environment for clients to begin sharing their life experiences, expanding self-awareness, shifting perspectives, and letting go of unworkable patterns in order to move in a more meaningful and intentional direction.

Great day! I am Brittany Gayle, a mindset coach, and holistic wellness practitioner . Are you seeking peace of mind or ways to decrease stress and anxiety ? If so, you are in the right place. Nine years ago, I shifted my mindset, altering my life and work practice. This shift broadened my perspective from traditional mental health to holistic health and healing. Today I love watching clients learn to slow down, relax, and become more confident in their decisions. My coaching style combines researched-based CBT (cognitive-behavioral-theory) techniques with proven modalities like mediation and breath work to help clients.

You will learn to listen to your body, learn to lean into the anxiety & other emotions; know that it's ok to feel emotions.
Do you worry? How could you not, the world is a mess! Worrying doesn’t help anything, doesn’t fix or make life better, if anything, it makes you feel more alone. If you have experienced severe anxiety and panic attacks, you know that it shows up in so many different ways to distract you from feeling what you really need to feel, and it can completely take over your life. In response to your worrying, you may emotionally eat or push down your emotions so far down that your lie to others and yourself by continuing to say, “I’m fine”. You have buried it under a lot of shame, guilt, and beliefs system that no longer serve you.

Other common issues include transitions or changes in life, struggling with implementing boundaries, issues with self-doubt, struggling with finding purpose, grief, depression, and anxiety .
Whoever thought you could feel so alone in a world so big? While we all face similar problems, the impact can be so different. I am open to working with clients who are in need of a safe space where they can be vulnerable and transparant without judgment, and who are willing to take an active role in managing their mental health. We often struggle with knowing where or even how to begin , and I believe that sometimes it takes a neutral party to help put things into perspective. No issue is ever too minor, and although we cannot always change our circumstance, creating tools on managing our responses can make a great difference.

I work with clients across the board varying from mental illness mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, stress, anxiety , and depression.
I am proud of you for taking this step to search for a therapist. Often times the hardest part is getting started and finding a professional who meets your needs and someone who you feel you can be comfortable with. For me, the therapeutic relationship is the number one predictor of counseling outcomes. My biggest goal is to create a comfortable space, offer you techniques and skills to build on, and work together to challenge beliefs, patterns, and thoughts.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
