ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT OUR PRACTICE (7 LICENCED THERAPISTS) Everyone struggles at some point in time in their lives. Acknowledging this to another person can be incredibly difficult yet, freeing. True strength is in recognizing our faults (because we all have them.....yes we do) and working to change them. That is why we say the healthiest people are sitting in our office. The healthiest people are those who can acknowledge that they can't do it alone. Sometimes we need to trust in other people to guide us and give us perspective. It can be a challenge to open up to friends and loved ones for fear of judgement or rejection.

Welcome. I have learned that no one theory works for everyone. By utilizing different therapeutic approaches I help you achieve practical and lasting results. Together we can make the necessary connections in order for you to achieve a greater self-understanding. This understanding is not focused on good or bad, right or wrong but on the underlying reasons and beliefs that motivate your behavior. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the current challenges in your life.

I offer an eclectic approach that includes strength-based interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and supportive therapy to help children, adults, and teens process through life challenges, stress, depression , anxiety, grief, or other issues.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Social Work from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (AGGIE Pride!). I have been passionate about advocating for the youth and my local community. After a few years of working with adolescents, I began to embark on my Master’s degree and I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master's in Social Work and a concentration in families and children.

My experience included working with families, adults and children with anxiety, depression , ADHD, learning disabilities, and illness.
The clients I work with are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. I work with people who range in age from six years old through adulthood, who are experiencing difficulty and stress. This stress can be in school, on the job, or in the family. By helping alleviate the sources of anxiety and stress, we can change how we feel, and then consequently, how we respond. Different times of our lives can lend to new changes. Even a positive change can bring on anxiety, or self-doubt. Counseling can increase your support circle to help improve your family and social relationships.

Since 2010 I've enjoyed working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression , and adjustment disorders as well as parent concerns with their child's self-esteem, behavior, and the parent/child relationships.
Choosing the right therapist can be a difficult decision; especially when they're working so closely with you or your child. You want someone who listens, understands and hears your concerns but is also supportive and nurturing. Let me begin by stating that I provide a safe environment where I incorporate empathy, encouragement, and laughter as part of the therapy process. But most importantly I believe in building a relationship with every person is the key to the healing process.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
