Working with many individuals and couples in the LGBTQ+ community, my passion lies in helping clients confront the complexities of being human in a world that often pushes us into rigid molds of how we should live, feel, and act.
I approach this work with a strong belief that our lives are shaped by the systems we’re part of, from family dynamics to cultural influences. Together, we’ll explore how these factors influence your experiences, relationships, and self-perception, uncovering patterns and discovering ways to move forward in alignment with your values.

I tailor treatment to each client's specific needs, drawing on empirical therapies such as ACT, DBT, CBT, and relational therapies.
As a clinical psychologist, I help clients gain clarity and to find resolution to seemingly insurmountable issues and problems. I specialize in treating adults throughout the life cycle who have anxiety, eating disorders, depression, and/or relationship issues. By providing a compassionate and validating environment, clients are empowered to identify their needs and the means to get those needs met. I believe that each individual has their own voice and that therapy can facilitate its strengthening and emergence as a guiding force.

I specialize in helping clients navigate relationship challenges, queer identities, difficulties with family members, acceptance of self, intimacy, chronic illnesses, and transitional life changes. Situating yourself as a unique person in a complex world is hard, especially when you try to do it alone, and asking for help takes courage. I’m here to help you figure out the hard stuff, cancel out the noise, and delight in the joy.

My primary frameworks are ACT and Gottman Method though I borrow from a few others.
Do you find yourself struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings, unable to sleep at night and desperate for something to change? Maybe you find yourself struggling to manage your life and relationships, feeling stuck and beating yourself up about it. I understand how it feels to struggle in this messy and beautiful world, unsure if things will ever get better. If you’re still reading this then you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to take a chance on therapy. Most of all, you’re ready to build a life that is full, rich and meaningful. I want to help you get there. If nothing changes, then nothing changes.

ACT helps clients to fundamentally change their relationship with painful thoughts and feelings, to develop a transcendent sense of self, to live in the present, and to take action, guided by their deepest values, to create a rich and meaningful life.
What kind of person do you really want to be? For yourself, for your relationships, for your community? What is getting in the way? I partner with individuals and couples that want a life of peace and purpose. I can not erase pain and hardship, however, I can provide guidance in creating the life YOU want in the midst of life’s inevitable ups and downs. From the beginning we will clarify your goals and practice skills together in order to bring the changes you desire. This might include learning to set and reinforce boundaries or untangling from painful thoughts memories or urges. Regardless of the goals, we will work together.

Life has a way of molding us into the person we had to be instead of the person we actually are. If you grew up with emotionally immature parents, you likely learned to shrink yourself or become the “reasonable one” while the adults acted like toddlers. Now, you're stuck in old patterns—choosing relationships that feel eerily familiar, doubting your needs, saddling yourself with responsibility for everyone else's joy while feeling chronically inadequate. It’s frustrating as hell, especially when you know what’s happening but can’t seem to shift it. Therapy with me is about dismantling the old M.O. and consciously choosing YOU.

Over the course of our lives, we are told stories about ourselves. Oftentimes those stories aren't true. Sometimes they're harmful. Usually they get in the way of us being able to truly understand ourselves and grow in the ways we want to. I work with clients to explore the stories they hold about themselves, their own definition of mental wellness, and the tools that might help them to move toward it. I am excited to offer individuals, partners, families, and friends a sacred, therapeutic space to sift through those stories, where they come from, and whether they serve you or block you from a fuller taste of joy.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
