Everyone has the potential to unlock who they want to become and achieve a balanced life. If this is your first time seeking a therapist or if you have been in therapy before, I find ways to help client's feel comfortable to be able to speak freely to reach their goals. Having experience in working with children and adults in different capacities over my career, it has become my desire to help those I work with find their own potential and assist in empowerment. I have an extensive background in woking with those with a variety of mental health issues in the community mental health setting and hospital setting.

Are you seeking change in your life? Do you feel stuck on how to move forward? Managing the human condition is tricky! I believe that prioritizing self-care lends itself to a more balanced lifestyle and can prevent dis-ease and dis-order. I specialize in working with women, particularly women who struggle with people-pleasing behaviors that were likely programmed by societal and familial norms. I can walk along side you so we can work together to: achieve the change you seek, get you out of feeling stuck, and begin to prioritize your needs. Putting yourself first is NOT selfish! The opposite isn't sustainable.

Trauma (well, and life) can be tricky. It could be what clinicians call a “Big T” trauma in the form of abuse, neglect, living through a natural disaster, etc.; or it could be a “little t” trauma that stems from your 2nd grade teacher who had a flippant attitude toward you for reasons unbeknownst to you. Often times the “little t” traumas manifest for us in the same ways as “Big T” traumas. We may be aware of our trauma responses but often times we are clueless and just know that something weird is happening within and we can’t really identify or explain it. We just know it isn’t working for us and we want to change it.

It is an honor to assist clients in their personal growth work. I believe that a strong, therapeutic relationship based on a foundation of safety, trust and commitment is essential. I enjoy clients who are insightful, open, and curious. Working together, we use a combination of insight oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) in addition to other strategies. I particularly enjoy clients who take an active role in therapy by creating their own goals and challenging themselves outside of the sessions. A certain amount of bravery is required and I very much respect this.

I am bilingual in Spanish and bring cultural understanding to my work with Latina women.
On leave until end of February 2024- Are pregnancy and motherhood supposed to feel this way? Why didn't anyone tell you how lost and alone you would feel? Since becoming a mom, you may feel like your partner and yourself are on autopilot and don't connect anymore. By acknowledging that you need some extra support, you can take the first steps to feeling more hopeful about this new adventure. You can work towards trusting yourself and others. You can be present in the moment for child, yourself and your loved ones and not lost in your self-critical thoughts.
