Navigating life's journey can be overwhelming. For over twenty years, it has been my privilege to meet people where they are and partner with them in difficult seasons. It is my experience that having someone to share your burdens can often provide healing and the courage to seek physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Sometimes we know something isn’t working in our lives—but we’re not sure how to fix it. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, experiencing relationship challenges, or going through a major life transition. Whatever brings you here, your needs—your why—are at the heart of the work we'll do together. I’m a goal-focused therapist who believes therapy should be active and collaborative—not just sitting on a couch talking about problems. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in your way and build practical tools to help you move forward.

I have a strong dedication for working and advocating for women’s health issues and concerns, including high functioning anxiety & self-doubt, burnout, perinatal mental health, postpartum, reproductive trauma, and infertility.
I specialize in working with adults who often appear to “have it all together” on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, or constantly on edge. If you’re someone who is high-achieving, dependable, and used to pushing through—yet struggle with persistent worry, perfectionism, or burnout—you’re not alone. In our work together, we’ll create a space where you don’t have to hold it all together. We’ll explore what's beneath the surface, build tools to manage anxiety & stress, set healthy boundaries and help you reconnect with a sense of calm, balance, and self-trust to cultivate a more sustainable way of living.

More recently, I have focused on furthering my education and training in the perinatal and postpartum periods of motherhood.
I offer a non-judgmental approach to therapy and understand that each individual has their own story and own set of circumstances. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, which can be helpful in changing thinking patterns and offer a new perspective. I am also working on my PMH-C to continue helping women in the motherhood journey.

Therapy is hard work and I believe a partnership is required for positive outcomes to be achieved. You see, as engaged and motivated as I may be to help you succeed, your buy-in is absolutely necessary in order for change to occur. As a therapist at Potter Counseling, I'm looking for clients who are seeking a different tomorrow and are ready to take steps to make it happen. This means being an active participant in therapy, being willing to face challenging conversations, making changes that may not feel so great in the moment, and doing work outside the session to make changes stick.

Something about your experience—your pregnancy, birth experience, or a loss—has stayed with you, even if others have moved on.
I help women heal from pregnancy and postpartum anxiety, birth trauma, miscarriage, and loss. The women I work with are thoughtful and high-functioning, but this feels different. You’ve tried giving it time, researching, or pushing through—but it's still there. In our work together, we won't just talk, we'll help your nervous system actually process it.

My ideal clients are real people carrying real-life weight: anxiety, trauma, parenting stress, relationship struggles, grief, burnout, and the occasional “Lord, I need a minute” moment. Many come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, misunderstood, or tired of pretending they are okay. I help clients slow down, feel seen, make sense of what they are carrying, and build practical tools for healing. My style is compassionate, honest, a little humorous when appropriate, and grounded in creating a space where people can breathe, grow, and feel human again.

I specialize in working with young adults and adults, including therapists and educators, who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, adjustment to college and graduation, relationship concerns, perinatal mental health ( pregnancy, postpartum, birth trauma) and parenting stress, and racial/cultural stressors.
You’re strong, capable, and used to showing up for everyone else — but lately you feel exhausted carrying it all alone. Maybe anxiety feels louder than your intuition. Maybe old trauma keeps resurfacing. Maybe parenthood, relationships, or life transitions have left you wondering where YOU went. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling clearer, more grounded, and more confident trusting yourself again. Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to — someone who balances deep emotional work with practical support.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
