Navigating life's journey can be overwhelming. For over twenty years, it has been my privilege to meet people where they are and partner with them in difficult seasons. It is my experience that having someone to share your burdens can often provide healing and the courage to seek physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to keep going can be incredibly isolating. You don't have to face it alone. I am passionate about working with individuals who feel hopeless, have experienced trauma, or feel overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward. I especially enjoy working with children ages 6 and older, middle and high school students, and young adults. That said, I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds and strive to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported.

Seasons of life come and go and with each season comes new challenges. Many times, turning the page to the next chapter is difficult. While serving in pastoral ministry for over 10 years, I've had the privilege to witness many individuals and couples turn the page and experience the life that God desires for them. You can be all that God has created you to be and you can experience life abundantly. Sometimes we just need a little help reaching goals and working through situations and circumstances. I want to help you find the abundant life and turn the page to your next chapter.

Whatever brings you here, your needs—your why—are at the heart of the work we'll do together. I’m a goal-focused therapist who believes therapy should be active and collaborative—not just sitting on a couch talking about problems. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in your way and build practical tools to help you move forward.

Life is full of ups and downs, and at times we are pushed beyond our limits in ways that challenge who we believe ourselves to be. Under pressure, it’s easy to slip into reacting rather than living intentionally. Moving forward is not simple—our attention is pulled in many directions, resources feel limited, and progress can falter. My role is to help identify and change the factors that keep you stuck, so you can move with greater clarity, purpose, and resilience. Together, we will define what success truly means for you and create a path that supports it.

Life can be painful. Therapy doesn’t have to be. Many people see therapy as one-sided, with little opportunity for interaction or getting to experience each other as real people. I can promise you that I am as real as it gets! I want to help you achieve the solutions and life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process as much as possible. Calling therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe a deep breath) to call and see how I can help.

I work with a range of concerns, including grief, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
My introduction to counseling started well before I became a clinician. As a widow raising young children without the support of a husband/father, life was overwhelming and, initially, felt impossible to bear. Fear, anxiety, depression, anger, and sometimes debilitating emotional pain worked overtime to leave me feeling hopeless. The decision to reach out for help changed my life. It was empowering and provided the needed tools to not only survive but to thrive. Now, with over 13 yrs of clinical work, I look forward to working with you to provide an experience of empowerment as you grow through what led you to seek support.

Areas of focus can include anxiety, mild to moderate depression, relationship issues, work stress, familial conflict, parenting, career changes, stages of life challenges, and grief.
I believe that oftentimes we already have what it takes to move past our challenges. It simply takes another person to help us point out our strengths and provide a roadmap to getting back on track.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
