I am EMDR-certified and work with clients who are learning how to process religious trauma & relational harm.
There are seasons when letting go feels impossible, when the unknown of transition asks more than you can hold alone. That's when it helps to have someone alongside you. I work from the understanding that your body communicates through sensation, emotion, and nervous system response. My role is to help you listen and notice what's actually true for you beneath the noise. You may be deconstructing beliefs, untangling from harmful relationships, or learning how to manage ADHD. Often, the body knows this before there are words. My work begins there.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) in North Carolina, trained in EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), bringing evidence-based approaches to help you process trauma and build lasting resilience.
I work best with clients who are ready to do the work—not just talk about change, but actively practice it between sessions. I specialize in trauma-focused work and help clients process difficult experiences while building coping strategies that actually stick. My style is direct, down-to-earth, and grounded in real conversations. I will support you, and I will challenge you. If you value honesty, accountability, and a therapist who will call out patterns that keep you stuck, we’ll likely be a good fit. If you’re looking for someone who will only validate without challenging you, I may not be the right therapist—and that’s okay.

I use evidence-based approaches like EMDR & ACT to reduce the intensity of painful memories, quiet “what if” thoughts, and help your body feel safe again.
You tell yourself you’re just being “cautious”… but the constant Googling, checking, and second-guessing is exhausting—and it still doesn’t make you feel any calmer. Something about your experience—your pregnancy, birth experience, or a loss—has stayed with you, even if others have moved on. On the outside, you’re holding it together. On the inside, you’re overthinking everything, bracing for the worst, and wondering why this feels so much harder than it “should.” You might not call it trauma… but something about what you went through still feels unresolved—and it keeps showing up in ways you can’t ignore.

I use IFS and EMDR to help you understand not just what’s happening, but why.
You’ve spent a lot of your life doing what was expected: keeping the peace, showing up for others, trying to be “good.” Now you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or questioning everything you were taught about yourself.
I work with adults healing from religious trauma and complex relational patterns. Many of my clients are learning how to set boundaries, communicate more directly, and stop losing themselves in relationships. If you’re navigating faith deconstruction and purity culture, people-pleasing, or the impact of growing up in environments where love felt conditional, you’re not alone.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
