Seasons of life come and go and with each season comes new challenges. Many times, turning the page to the next chapter is difficult. While serving in pastoral ministry for over 10 years, I've had the privilege to witness many individuals and couples turn the page and experience the life that God desires for them. You can be all that God has created you to be and you can experience life abundantly. Sometimes we just need a little help reaching goals and working through situations and circumstances. I want to help you find the abundant life and turn the page to your next chapter.

You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or past experiences that still affect your daily life. Maybe you're stuck in survival mode, emotionally exhausted, or questioning your own strength. You want relief from racing thoughts, better coping skills, and a sense of calm and control. More than anything, you want to feel grounded, confident, and able to move forward without the weight of trauma, depression, or unhealthy patterns holding you back..

I help individuals and families address impacts of trauma and other disruptions (survivors of loss of a loved one through violence; divorce, anger management; depression).
You are stronger than you think - and sometimes, all it takes is the right support to rediscover that strength. I love helping clients tap into their resilience as they navigate life’s challenges. My clients often share that they feel more empowered to overcome internal barriers and build more fulfilling relationships at home and at work. Through decades of experience with individuals from diverse backgrounds and many types of families, including adoptive and LGBTQ+ families, I’ve learned to listen deeply and tailor my approach to the unique needs of each person I work with.

Experiencing problems with anger, depression, anxiety, trauma, hyperactivity or low self-esteem?
Many people express the difficulty of taking the first step toward therapy. My response has always been, "You will be very thankful after you take it". Take that first step and allow me to walk with you through your situation.

Life choices don't always seem to create space for healing and growth, often those choices can feel limited or unclear. I believe that feeling stuck is often a response to unseen barriers, rather than personal failure. In our work together, we’ll create a safe, supportive space to explore new possibilities.

Do you have anger issues?
My style of therapy is direct, and firm, however, still respectful, and compassionate. My approach will challenge the way you think, and challenge your awareness of your feelings. I will support you to forgive yourself emotionally regarding experiences that were traumatic, painful, overwhelming, confusing, and toxic.

Life will humble you sometimes. One minute you feel like you’ve got it together… and the next, you’re overwhelmed, disconnected, or questioning everything. Maybe you’ve experienced something that changed you, and now you’re trying to figure out how to trust again. Or maybe you’re noticing patterns in your family, your relationships, even in yourself… and you’re ready to break cycles that have been around for generations. I help individuals, couples, and families slow things down, make sense of what’s been happening, and begin doing things differently that feel healthy and sustainable.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
