Have you found that talk therapy isn’t for you, or are you ready to try something different? Does your low self-image get in the way of your enjoyment? Perhaps you have a history of trauma or abuse, but are at a safe place and ready to become more authentic, engaged, easeful and present. You aren’t afraid to look at the stuck places where your patterns keep repeating. You know you want more energy, more loving kindness towards yourself or others and most of all more peace. This journey takes courage, and it is my great honor to be able to be a witness and support as you engage in your creative becoming.

You are capable, intelligent, and often the one others rely on. From the outside, you are doing well. Internally, you may struggle with anxiety, ADHD, depression, or constant pressure to perform. As a former IT professional, I understand analytical work environments and the mental overdrive that comes with them. Perfectionism, self-criticism, and fear of failure quietly shape your decisions. You want confidence, balance, and relief without losing your edge.

Whether working with adolescents, adults, couples, or families, I believe that fairness and personal responsibility are central to healthy relationships.
I also draw on a systems approach, which looks at people within the context of their relationships and environments. This includes understanding roles, boundaries, patterns of communication, and how different parts of a system influence one another. Therapy can help clarify these dynamics, improve communication, and support more flexible ways of relating.

I work with moms and children to strengthen the bond/ attachment between mother and infant, children, preteens, and teens.
I want you to become comfortable in your own skin and integrate your body and spirit. Many times we experience feeling out of sorts and not quite in sync with ourselves. Sometimes this is because of trauma, illness an accident or a life transition of any kind. It could also be simply realizing we have aged and can no longer move the way we thought we could. I will help you remember the joy of being free within yourself without the inner voice of self judgement because we are all athletes and beautiful. As human beings, we are meant to move to access our passions.

I specialize in working with children, youth, and adults recovering from trauma.
Do you feel stuck in past traumas, disconnected, discouraged or overwhelmed? Does your child find growing up complicated and confusing? While life offers many beautiful moments, navigating today’s world can overwhelms us. We may struggle understanding our feelings or our behaviors and feel unable to move beyond our worst moments. But growth, healing, and relief are possible! Are you ready to move past limiting experiences and change internal hurtful messages? My passion is to help others return to -or discover for the first time- that place of curiosity, safety, and joy that lives inside us all.

Hello, I'm Fauzia, and I have been a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over three decades, working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
When I am working with clients, what I have found most helpful is listening, respecting, empathizing, and connecting - which means I must be present to receive and to teach ways you can heal and transform, become aware of your true nature and who you truly are, free yourself from the narratives, constructs, concepts and labelling.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
