I help adult clients of any identity who may be experiencing any of a variety concerns including relationships, communication, career, substance use, process addictions, anxiety, trauma, and eating and body image concerns.
It is so hard to be a human being, especially now. The pace of life, the number of balls that we all have to juggle, the constant stimulation from all around us - it can be overwhelming. My wish for my clients is that my office can become a moment of peace and calm in which they can press pause, take a breath, and ask themselves, “How is it going for me? What needs to change?” Often, people who are struggling are doing the best they can in their circumstances and a supportive, therapeutic setting can help them to see their situation from a different angle.

Painful experiences can imprint on our brains and alter our perspective of our strength and ability. Yet our largest impediment to change is often being unseen and not validated for who we are. My work focuses on creating room for clients to live authentically and teaching them to take up space in their own lives without apologizing. I'm a queer, non-binary therapist and my practice is open to all identities.

I have experience working with male and female adolescent populations (age 14-17) struggling with depression, anxiety, BPD traits, complex trauma, ADHD, family dynamics, and substance use/abuse.
“I’m a bad bad person.” Is that surely true? “My past defines who I am.” “I’d be better off not here.” “I wish I was normal.” “It’s all my fault.” Anxiety, Depression, Shame, and many things in between can be debilitating depending on how you experience them on a moment-by-moment or daily basis. This suffering does not have to be infinite.
Here's the truth. I'm unsure of the magical statement that will give you the strength to reach out and start your healing journey, but I do know that I am here willing to connect and help you get on the path you'd like to be on. A path that encourages you to experience some much needed healing.

Many people appear strong on the outside while privately carrying stress, anxiety, trauma, burnout, grief, relationship struggles, or emotional exhaustion. I work with individuals who are tired of merely surviving and want healthier ways to cope, communicate, and move forward. Whether you are facing a current crisis or longstanding patterns that continue to create distress, therapy can help you regain clarity, confidence, and emotional balance. Sometimes the first step forward is simply allowing yourself to believe things can improve.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
